I'm no expert on slugs... BUT I do know that Cher's music kills... Could have been slugs, raccoons, beetles, midgets... Doesn't matter. If you've got a pest problem, use Cher.

Problem is, them bitches are expensive, and its really thin wire (its a bunch of em) but theyre really really thin?

Well, I was BORN in the south. I however, had a kick-ass job offer when I was eight months old which took us elsewhere...I cant' remember where anymore.
Anyway, your posts are pleasantly weird to read...and your pic of that strange face looking at a bowl of boomers is solid man. Keep posting...it makes me laugh as I blow my summer tucked away in the basement doing some really hard homework.
Peace!

Salt will ruin the soil, and is toxic to mycelium and plants. RR
SO I went to the hardware store; FUCK! IDK what size? I mean, how thick is sufficent? 1/4 inch? and should I get the soft coil tubing? or the thicker ones?
THANKS! ...ps: need answer quickly as I am knee deep in fruits and/but waist deep in SLUGS! they are DESTROYING my shit, I mean, OBLITERATING any progress...

So, now I feel bad. I just went out and massacred those fuckers with salt...fuckin anilated those bastards... but for some reason, I feel horrible now. B/C I don't want to KILL them, I just want em to not eat my mushies... There's got a be a middle ground, where we can all live together in peace and harmony right?
...I'll never forget the look on their faces as the salt went on, they just looked up at me and screamed... They're a peaceful little group of critters. (strange no doubt) but peaceful... They have no defense. They are completely at the whim of everything around them to keep them alive.
THink about it, they cant run, they can't hide, they can't bite, they can't fight, all they do is just slime around all day and hope nobody eats em, or assaults them.

1/4in. flexible copper should do the trick and it would be really easy to make a nice ring around your patch. It comes in a coil and you just have to pull it out to make a nice big circle.

As for whether these chords are brass or copper, brass is an alloy of copper and zinc with a high copper content. If slugs can't handle copper and this approach works at all, brass should bee good.

Wouldn't you be able to use Copper Tubing meant for water pipes in a house? I mean you can easily make a frame out of it with parts from any hardware store. It's something I would think of.

Sure as hell works for me. I've watched as slugs approach a 1/2" copper tubing, crawl part way onto it and then turn around and leave. You've probably got squirrels, rats, or mice eating the fruits and you're blaming the slugs. Ever heard of 1/4" hardware cloth? Go to the hardware store and get a roll if you want to keep everything out. You sure seem to have a lot of critters eating your stuff. Perhaps a cleanup is in order. RR

Sprinkling borax (boric acid) around the edge of the pipe may help. Boric acid kills all kinds of insects and slugs too.
I think RR is right, you have many things eating your patch.

So its gotta be 1/2in. (not 1/4) maybe if I "Double it up" ? what kind of "Cleanup" are you talking about? clean up the area?
and about the cloth, how do I put it on? just put it over top? with rocks to hold it down?
