Using RR's rye grass seed prep in quart jars. 300ml grain, 150 ml water. Soak for three hours, shake like crazy and then pc. However I have water sitting at the bottom the jars and the grains on top are clearly dryer. This tek seems bunk. Anybody got something better? Or can somebody clear this up for me?
I have a lot of experience with RGS. No need to soak. The ratio is right.
The uneven distibution of wet and dry seed is normal. Shake like a mofo. I find RGS to be similar to straw in that it can be a one or two shot wonder - and especially more prone to contams at higher temps. I recommend RGS for cooler growing conditions. The green monster comes much more often at higher temps. Use some verm for rez effect because RGS don't hold shit for water - or spawn to compost, which works very nicely - even store bought stuff, with some coir and verm thrown in for the fluff factor. But be sure to throw in a jar of grain to compare against the RGS because that is a critical land-mark for judging . . . WTF . . is it good or bad . . . or in between?
