Not really is the short answer. If you actually pick one up, there are several instant identifying features that will guarantee that it is not a cube if they don't match. Psilocybe cubensis is the species that is in all the pics on the previous page in question.

-rare that they grow in lawns as you asked, but possible, generally only from dung in cow pastures
-Basically 100% of the time they will have a ring on the stem, google it. It's is always purple. As is the spore print. The gills start grey, and then fade to purplish/brownish.
-Golden top that fades to whhite/tan, but can also appear purplish/whitish if wet and gills are mature.

saw a bunch of old, rotting/rotten guys in my forest.  it's a sad sight indeed when you come across them, but at least they got to spread they're spores.

happy hunting :mushroomgrow:

Just got back from another fantastic outing! Saw some other shroomers out on the field, luckily they were respectful and went to the opposite side from where I was looking. A few of the big ones weighed well over an ounce(wet).

If you are going to make a ridiculous claim like that, be sure to include a picture of the mushroom on a scale.

Yeah, some people are way off with their 1 pound estimates... a mushroom shrinks to about 1/10th it's wet weight when dried..... that'd be about a 45 gram dried mushroom.

Considering an eigth of an ounce (3.5 grams) is considered to be a pretty strong dose, that'd be enough for nearly 13 people to trip hard..... from a single mushroom.... not so much, guys... sorry...

An ounce (28 grams) is probably what they're thinking.... that'd weigh in at almost 3 grams dried, which would be a good strong trip for one person... which is a whole lot more logical...

I've seen some large ones in the 1-3 ounce wet range, but not really any bigger than that

took a buddy to the woods I hunt this morning, and came up with more than a Pound (dried).  and also found 349 fresh grams of active Pans.
it was 5,227 grams of fresh cubes.  sounds crazy, but it's the real deal.

YA I know the feeling. I havent found shit so far this season, went out after dark a few weeks ago, and thought i hit the jackpot, got a good size bag of what i thought were pans but turned out to be inactive, or extremely weak, cuza it seemed like they started to work, but maybe i just worked mysel into the mindset, lol. But either way im soo upset, I havent had any good hauls in past couple years. Which brings me to a question, Ive spoke with other people i know about how hard they are to find around my area anymore, and a lot of people say it is becuase farmers, are putting something in the cow fields, or feding them something to make there poo not produce mushrooms. Does this sound true? is there such a thing, or practice? I tend to not belive it kinda, but they have gotten so rare past few years, when at one point it was so easy to get a wally world sized bag almost everyday years ago in certain area, but any more, Nadda. But I live in north central fL, dIXE COUNTY. sOMEONE HOOK ME UP!, LOL. bUT YEAH IF ANYone knows about my question id appreciate the info. THx Peace. . . .

I post for entertainment purposes only, Nothing I say here is based in reality. After the last time the aliens came they transferred my brain into a glass dome with tentacles and im stationary, but my tentacles work great for typing! So I scan the internet 24/7 while being stuck in my glass jar imagining different things and posting dreams ive had as if they were real. I once drank 10 gallons of lsd and flew to the center of the galaxy where i learned that if i cover myself in dogshit totally I become invisible to the naked eye ! Its pretty cool, ever think you smell dog shit but cant find it anywhere? Then that was prolly me lurking behind you, b4 the damn aliens gave me tentacles and left me trapped in this damn dome!

That's funny you bring that up. Last couple years were pretty slow in SW FL and people were saying the farmers had something to do with it. Yet this year those same fields that didn't produce are fruiting like crazy. I think at least in my area its because of the weather conditions. We've been in a drought for some time, so it's understandable the ground wasn't retaining much water. Now so far this year we've had a lot of rain, almost too much, and no problems finding cubes and active pans.

Hey guys, I'm really, really new to mushrooms, but I love them already!

I've never tried a shroom, but I just ordered an electronic scale to be able to accurately weigh the shroom and intake 0.25g to have a slow experience, as I do not want my first trip to be bad.

I've been looking this morning, can anybody here identify these?

Eat or stay away? (I don't know what you guys say...)

Both found in regular grass....here in Florida of course

stay away from those...you are new here, they like you to make a new topic to id mushrooms...

when you do get some good ones you should try 1-2grams dry or 10-20grams wet to get a feel for them...doubt .25gram would do andthing.

good luck(i know i need it lol)
