Deputies Seize 60 Pounds Of Mushrooms
July 2, 2009 - kcci.com
 OMAHA, Neb. -- A Sarpy County deputy seized 60 pounds of hallucinogenic mushrooms during a traffic stop Tuesday on Interstate 80, one of the largest mushroom seizures in the county, according to Capt. John Kucer.
The driver said he worked on the road crew for a music band that was touring the East Coast, Kucer said. Deputies did not indicate whether the driver told them the name of the band.
Stephen Goldsmith, 47, of California, was booked on felony drug charges.
Investigators estimated the drugs' street value at more than $100,000.
Psilocybin mushrooms, commonly called shrooms, cause a variety of psychedelic effects when consumed. Effects usually last between three and eight hours.

Yea but they don't say wether they were dried or fresh.. I could see somebody being in possesion of 60 pounds of fresh picked shrooms.. But 60 dry is alot.... I hope the man would have been smart enough not to transport sooo many shrooms without drying them.. Big difference in 6 pounds and 60... I wonder if he was a member here...

With the exception of Florida maybe, would they even make the distinction between fresh or dry mushrooms? It wouldn't surprise me at all if they just charged you with having xx amount of mushrooms regardless of the potency or anything.
Coming from the same police that weigh the dirt with marijuana plants to make their stats look better, wouldn't surprise me one bit.
I've heard they do the same with LSD. They'll just weigh whatever its stored on. Don't use sugar cubes. 
Seems so ridiculous, but what else could you really expect looking at the bigger picture. These molecules are bad, so the more of them you have, the more bad you must be and the more you get punished, and that's "justice."

I live in that area. Hes in a jail thats like 15 minutes from my house. Its on the news, they were dry and i swear to god atleast 50 full size trash bags full to the brim.

He probably could have, if he hadn't been dumb and carried it all on him at once. One comes to question where the fuck you come across sixty pounds of shrooms.
I mean that's not one grow. No way in hell, so if he grew them, or someone else grew them (unless they did it in a warehouse) it probably took several years to achieve... I just don't get it.

I managed a dry pound with a rather small scale growing op (portable greenhouse, six trays) in less than 2 months, so with a garage or a shed and half a year time it is not impossible.
Of course I didn't ride around on a highway with that stash, but rather gave most of it away to friends.

Hello!!! He's a rat. If you're on Further Tour and know him...WATCH OUT!!!!! People HE KNOWS have been recently busted with far less and are looking at much more time, 7 to 10 years.
BTW, he wasn't working for the band. From what I understand they were pretty pissed when they heard about this. It's not the kind of press any band needs.
