Florida highway patrol followed me off the median at 4am on 417 and spooked me. Saw 2 pairs of headlights get off the median when I passed and get into a uniformed trailing pattern. I'm already going to court the 7th in Jacksonville from the Wanee festival for posession of bud.

Didn't even want to risk it and before they got too close to see if I was making any drops, I tossed my bag of beautiful cubensis I had just found. Only got like 4 fully grown, but definitely an amazing find. I was so pissed. They trailed for 10 minutes then passed and turned around. So they must have ran the plates, saw my bad record, and just didn't wanna bother or something... I definitely don't regret it. I am so sketchy with those mosquitos now. Got college and a new house in a month. No time for bullshit.

My experience this morning. 3:00-6:00 mushy hunting in the hotness and nastiness of florida wetland, and then returning with a 1/4 tank less gas, it sucked. BUT, I did enjoy my mushies I had pre-picked and had a nice 2.5g night. Another reason why I tossed the bag, I knew I wouldn't have been able to respond as professionally as I would want if I was sober, so anything leading to a search, and my record has active drug felonies, so they could have proceeded that way, would have codemned me. Had some super fresh blueberry I curbed too... Just a half track, but GOD DAMN! :'(

Came home still buzzin, but pissed off. But I thanked myself for my health, and knowing the right thing to do at the right time, and happily went to bed. Haha

Bumpity; Come on ladies and gentlemen, the seasons only begun!

Went out today(been getting some pretty consistent rain) nothing but broken stems and flipped patties. Rat-bastards beat me to it!

-ManNamedGray-

Thats ok man, In the past week I got around 160caps only 45 or so that were huge:grin:.
I have been keeping them at my friends house to dry,(I dont trip, only sell them)
I go over his house today and only about 70 caps are left and all are fucking small!:mad2:
I took the rest of them for "safe keeping" to another friends house.
Maybe noone will take them.

So nothing is worse then going out for a few days collecting and only getting 1/4 of everything. Stupid people piss me off.

What county do you live in?  If its close to central west coast I could let you in on a field or two.

Central florida here... I just went out shrooming this morning alone for the first time (the past two times I've went with an experienced picker but we found nothing).  I found one pile of dung that had a ton of white granules on it, almost like mold...  anyways, other than that I only found mushrooms that grew near wood and were brown in the middle.  They don't have a "cap" but more like the front bill of a baseball cap.

I want to go looking some more because the weather has been OK for them and the forecast predicts rain.  Weird thing is, you guys seem to go in broad daylight; I'm not brave enough for that, I've only been a few times.  So, what tips would you all recommend for me finding some nice, safe fields?  My area has TONS of them, we live in "horse and cattle county," so I have much hope.

Any idea what these might be (I know horrible camera = bad shots):

They grow on red woodchips, have a yellowish white stem. Greyish brown cap, gold-ish brown nipple. Vertical striations on the cap (lines going down) No blue bruising.

Went out today, weathers been perfect and there a-popping! A couple nice 1+ pounders(wet), and a beaut with a freshly fallen veil.

A bunch of pans, I'm still trying to figure out how to tell them apart. The one in my hand was huge! It stood proudly at about 10in. in height.

Nice finds man! The shear size of some of the cubes I've been finding is astonishing. The large one in the pic above weighed over 46g. wet!
