Seen bugger all shrooms when we saw you the other day mushie patrol, but the spots looked pretty well worn anyway, hell lotta tracks going round.  Been dry as too, north wind dries the crap out of everything quick.

Personally I've found you get the most visuals from a tea. And usually the easiest to down because you can mix it with tea/coffee/milo.

I don't mind eating them fresh though, they don't taste too bad, mind over matter I reckon.

Powder is easy as well, again a tea or coffee. And this way if you keep them stored properly, you can hang on to them for years.

Went out again today ready for the weekend. We went to the new spot we found and Im sure its a haunt for someone as there are very light tracks around and even a few ribbons here and there.

I took about 15 mushies which is enough for me for the weekend and I can go back and get more next week. Left plenty of small ones for the 'regulars' there if they go back on the weekend.

I have about half a dozen dried now, so Ill chop them up in the herb grinder and make tea with them. the others Ill eat raw.

Is that right? The dry ones grind up and boil in a couple of cups of water for about half hour?

Thanks folks, my partner and I (she comes hunting but doenst partake) are getting the hang of this, took us about 20 minutes to find all I needed  yay!

Haemaglobin, you do not want to boil your mushrooms as this will destroy the psilocybin and render them useless. Grind your mushrooms up as fine as you can get em. Boil the kettle. Let it stand for 5 mins before using the water. What I do is make a pot of tea (Jasmine has been the preference lately), and then just stir the powdered goodness in. Try and agitate and stir it around a fair bit to get all the goodness out. Enjoy. :crazy2:

Some pics of today's successful hunt with ummagumma.

We got 296 of them in about one and a half hours.

I made a tea saturday about lunchtime. I didnt read this first, so my first tea was made with about 6 small dried mushrooms and 2 fresh ones, all mushed up, boiled the water with the mushrooms in it and then when it cooled I strained it and drank. Nice hit, very quick (started coming on after about 10 minutes as opposed to half hour or more when I ate them).

Then I came in and saw the message from dltwofold. So I made another batch of tea at about 6pm. I was pretty high at this point.
The second batch I used about 6 fresh mushrooms to two cups of water, cut them up as fine as I could, boiled the water and after boiling put the shrooms in and let it sit for about half hour. Then I strained it and microwaved it to warm it, one spoon of sugar and one of coffee, milk and drank. LOL tasted like coffee with mushrooms in it
But it came on VERY strong very quickly. I was W.A.S.T.E.D and giggling like a schoolgirl.

Thanks for the tips guys! Still no hallucimatations, but I like the trip anyway.

Would love to join some of the more experienced hunters here one day on a gathering trip. I am very keen to learn more about the other fungii that we see growing when we go out. Im not working atm, so time isnt an issue (yay!)

Seems like everyone's keen for a hunt hey.
Im keen as well. But the only thing is, is there is like 6 of us, and we find a spot with lets say 60 mushrooms, thats 10 each. Its not bad just not as many as small groups.

Although it would be great to get to know all the members on shroomery.

Those ones I see all over the place. They are found in bunches and more often around wood.

We have got them mixed up a couple of times, the difference is:
The stems are woodier, the lids dont look as good as the subs and they dont get that slight bluing around the edge of the top, the gills underneath are brown rather than cream and they dont go blue.

You will know subs when you see them, they are pretty obvious. I generally find them in 2's or 3's and spread out a bit more. They have a definite nipple on top, the edge of the top is usually tinged in blue like eyeliner, the stem is cream and will obviously blue, even if you cut it and the gills are cream.

Good luck

Hey Guys, first post!

Been reading through here for the last couple of weeks, sure have learnt a lot! I'm finally finished with uni exams and am very keen to get out there and start hunting!

Found what i think is a sub walking home today, looks identical to the ones I've seen on here and was very blue on the stem!

Anyway, will go for a big hunt tomorrow if weather permits and report back :crazy2:

Great forum btw!
