Thanks for that inski,I looked up some threads on the species but views are varied as far as edibility and activeness is concerned?
Has anybody else here tried or had any success with this species?

Can someone help me with an identification? These are from wood-chipped area under citrus, native shrubs, etc ... second year I've seen them in same place. Midway between Auckland and Hamilton, some frost damage from last week has turned older ones from shiny to matt and dried up.

Every time I go out among the pines around Wellington I see huge boletes. Are they edible? They have yellow flesh. They are huge, slimy, and make fairy ring patterns a little bit sometimes.... Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

Have i got a hunting story for you...... I went to a local park with 2 friends to hunt mushrooms after a half an hour of searching we found a single mushroom...we decided we would split up and continue to hunt. while looking at some fungal growth on the ground i heard someone coming thru the bush behind me (i thought was one of my friends) a stranger appears and says "oh your looking for mushrooms" i stood up and replied "yes...you too huh?" the stranger looked directly into my eyes didnt say a word and started to reach out his hand to grab my cock!!!!!!!...I bolted out of there so fast yelling for my mates...it was not funny. later that day we drove to another venue where we found enough mushies for a trip........ 2 weeks later we returned to the horrible weirdo area park to continue searching........ while we were in the trees we saw to men walking towards each other they crossed each others paths and one of them stopped on the path directly in front of us....he could not see us.....the guy starts to play with his dick....I gave a loud cough....the guy jumped about 4 foot in the air and sprinted out of the park.
conclusion......going to this particular park is not worth the emotional scarring and torment...no trip is worth that shit man.!!!

Yeah feel your pain, I think its been a little to wet this last week as my reliable spots have stopped flushing and the few I have found seem to be in some what of a bad state dull and water damaged give it a few days for the rain to ease off and the ground to drain abit and we should be back in action.....

hey found afew good patches this last week, the rains not all bad youve just got to look in the right places when its wet, and besides less people are out in the rain so your less likely to get spotted. bring on the next big flush

Would anyone else agree that 2009 is the best mushroom season ever? Maybe my shroom radar is unusually on form this year, it seems that every second spot I look I'll find at least a few. And this is the first year I even knew about the existence of weraroas, those cute little blue smurf hats! I tried them in the weekend, also my first time using the lemon tek method so it's hard to say if the trip is any different to the subs I usually find.
And to top it off I found an untouched patch in a little park in suburbia with at least 200 psylocibe australiaus! The mushroom gods are surely in a good mood this year, I think in times like these everyone could benefit from a good hard mushroom trip!
