 Hernia or cyst?

so i was riding my bike really hungover about a week ago and i came across some stairs and as I approach the first step i decided I changed my mind and wanted to walk the bike down instead of riding them down... in the process of going down the stairs and trying to get off the bike my body shifted forward and my pubic area hit the headtube/handlbar/bolt area and it hurt really bad! now there is a little bump that hurts in that area and I was looking up hernia's and the symptoms match and it is the a very common hernia location! but for some reason I dont want to believe its a hernia and that it will just go away... its a pretty small lump about the size of a dime and its getting smaller by the day, should i wait another week to see the doctor or see him asap? the reason I dont think its a hernia is because all the websites have said it is caused by heavy lifting or its genetic and I dont know anyone in my family thats had one and I wasnt lifting anything! I just hit it very hard so I'm thinking its just cyst kind of like when you bump your head you get a bump!

yeah, its just a bump. that wouldn't give you a hernia. and it definitely wouldn't be getting smaller.

a hernia is the protrusion of some structure of your body through another. Most often it's a loop of your intestines through a weak spot in one of the muscles of your abdominal wall, usually on the lower right or left part of your abdomen near the tops of your legs. Right int he center at your pubic bone there no weak area there where hernias can happen unless you've had a surgical incision in that spot before (called an incisional hernia). You just bumped your pubic bone on the bike, and you have a nice little inflamed nodule that will decrease in size over days. The injury mechanism doesn't fit with hernia.

cool thanks for the advise guys, its still hurts and theres still a bump but its getting better, i have a 10k race tomorrow ill let u guys know how it feels, just swam 1500 meters today and it only ached a tiny bit the last 100 m....
