SW FL checking in. It poured on and off all day this past weekend on Saturday. I made a Psylosmoothie (inspired from Shroom Gatherer!) and shared it with a couple friends and we all just chilled throughout the day. Great time...and the weather was really cool. A few times bolts of lightening struck within a couple hundred yards and the thunder was mind blowing and awesome as we all sat outside and took in the ferocity of Mother Nature.
Sadly however, one to two miles away where I pick didn't receive much, if any, of the 1.2 inches that weather.com said my city got. I went out today the the cattle ranch field was quite dry. No flooding in the field, no indicator field mushrooms anywhere to be found, the grass was crunchy and dry and the patties all dried out. Need a couple good days in a row of heavy rains before I venture out to reconnaissance the field again.
Good luck and safe hunting everyone! Psylo

Glad someone else enjoyed the Psylosmoothie (nice name)
Storms like that are incredible especially on shrooms. The lighting looks like art in the sky. It's amazing
Hopefully the rain comes soon so your field reconnaissance mission happens quicker
Peace and happy hunting.

Went out yesterday in swfl as well and luck was on my side, 267g wet all but two were cubes the other two were "meanies". Sorry for the dry spell psylo, hope the weather gets better for ya, peace.

Not that we need it, but once you get locked in a serious drug collection, the tendency is to push it as far as you can. The only thing that worried me was the either. I've been going back to my normal field but I only found a few my first time looking, and every time after that I've found nothing. And I always go after a rain. Is it possible that a field just stops growing actives? I know shrooming is a game of chance, I guess I'm just getting unlucky. Haha.

My fields have became hot-spots for other shroomers, which would be fine if they were respectful of the ranchers property. I'm thinking of going tomorrow, Sarasota has been getting soaked recently.

Atleast one field in Hernando county is now being watched by the police. This is a field that has been a big producer all summer... not sure how it happened, but the cops found out about it... I somehow managed to get out of there today without getting caught, but will not be returning. Right where myself and a friend, and probably a few other people too, I'm guessing, enter and exit the field I found a laminated sign posted saying something along the lines of: "The Hernando County Sheriff's Department is working hard to prevent the possession and trafficking of psychedelic mushrooms. Violators will be caught and prosecuted."
Obviously, it's no longer safe to go out there... just a heads up for anyone who would find that information helpful... it was not a pleasant experience finding that sign and hearing what sounded like a vehicle entering the property from a different area. I'm probably lucky to have gotten out of there safely...
Stay safe, everyone...
