farmer that use feed DO feed cows grains that contain antifungals...NOT to keep us from getting shrooms but to keep the food from molding...may have something to do with fields not growing shrooms, it may not...either way most store bought feed grain(like 100lbs+) has anti-fungals.  Salt licks are really what cause shrooms to not grow, they are designed to kill spores in the cow stomach because cows can get sick from other kinds of spores...and mushroom spores die too :frown:

Yea whoever made that other thread didn't do much searching. lol No one up in the NW Florida area finding anything? I haven't found any actives with this new rain, giving it another day or two though, but the field still seemed kinda dry, and we've had a ton of rain in the past few days.

All good. I found a bunch of non actives yesterday. It rained this morning and there seems to be growth finally (active), so I'm going to check my other fields. If nothing this time, I'm taking my shovel with me and grabbing some compost while I'm out. There's one area that's filled with clumps of dung, I may have to go grab a few scoops out of it to take home and spread around in my new garden.

In general, wait for repeated heavy rains on the location of interest. Afterwards, wear boots and use your best judgment.

Depends on what Location you will be going to.
I know a few fields that have houses around them, so I only go at night.
Other fields No houses I go in the morning or in the afternoon.
It doesn't matter what time you go out hunting!
I Always find my Biggest caps in the daytime!

As for the rain.. If It rains a little at night and I pick a field in the morning, and it rains on and off that day with lots of clouds, Then the next day only sun no rain, I go every morning for the next three days!  For some reason with this Pattern They Flood the fields for around three days after..

If it rains on and off night/day for three to four days in a row, I give it 36hrs of no rain just sun go out and I find more caps than if I had went while it was raining.
Also you stay dry!

This is just my personal experience with fields around my area.
does anyone else have info about weather patterns or rain ect.

Side note. I also have two fields that for the past two summers were off the hook amazing and long walks to get to em.  Now this summer NOTHING and it sucked finding that out! isn't that right RollAnotherBowl? Im sure you had fun checking with me.

Everyone take care and Safe pickings.

Move to the Central/South Florida area and you'll never have any doubts about when the time is right. NW Florida is another story, but when tropical storms/hurricanes start coming around, :mushroom2:.

Haha, yup... fields behind where you have to walk with waist high soaking wet hay grass right in between two houses... not so fun lol

I'm probably going to give you a call within the hour so we can go looking tomorrow morning aha

Any of my NW Florida guys finding anything at all with this rain we've been getting slammed with all week? Just some non-actives here so far over this way. About to set out again this morning to go look.

Me and 352_hippieflip went out again this morning..... still out there. took a bit more effort with us checking another area this morning to get as many as we have been lately, but we did. we were pretty much out in the rain for a good 2 hours or so.... been raining all day so far. might be a bunch out tomorrow morning.
