Just wondering is these mushrooms are active and edible?

Habitat: Found in the grass possibly growing off or near dog droppings?

Gills: The gills are pretty dark brown.

Stem: Whitish/ Brownish very fragile.

Cap: Light brown to dark brown

Spore print color: Have not tested yet.

Bruising: No color change very obvious.
Just a slight brown with a purplish tent.

Location: Picked in Northern Kentucky.

(Please don't mind the pizza sauce on the last picture haha)

mixed bag of panaeolus species and possibly psathyrella

spore prints are needed for further identification.

I agree.

Well...  I'm not sure how much good a spore print will do if those Psathyrella turn out to be one of the black spored species.

The ones with the white/translucent, very brittle, splitting stems are Psathyrella.  They are not good for ingesting, but they are not poisonous.  They will have brown or black spores.

The ones with the slightly more fibrous, reddish or beige stems are Panaeolus and/or Panaeolina.
Panaeolus subbalteatus is active, though you need a considerable amount to feel the effects.  They will have jet black spores.
Panaeolina foenisecii are inactive (but not poisonous), and will have brown or dark brown spores.

Yes I know, but I am saying that some Psathyrella also have black spores.
