Ok so I've always wondered what are the long term effects of shrooms. Another question I have is short term effect?

well the answer to your question really depends on the individual more than anything.
i know that i plan on using shrooms for the rest of my life. i use them for spiritual purposes because that is what i like doing, and i use them infrequently.
so from my useage i really doubt i will experience any type of negative long term effects really. on the positive side though, id say that they definitely help me remain positive about things and they really help me open my mind more and more.

I used shrooms heavily during my freshman year at college. When I was picking them I ate them 2 times a week for about 3 to 4 months. I did get really depressed for 6 months, but I'm not sure if that was from me doing shitty in classes or what. This was 5 years ago, I haven't noticed any long term effects, no spontaneous hallucinations or anything.

after having dozens of trips during the last years and now taking a break i haven't noticed anything except i can recognize face patterns from random textures and also the "halo effect": if there's a shine of light around something and it appears bright white i see the colours of the rainbow coming out of it. not like laser beams but like a radiant layer of all the colours that form the white light.

You will have long term effects.
It will be you who decides if they are good or bad.
I started using shrooms as recreation. Now I use them as a tool.
They can make you uncover things about yourself that cannot be realized any other way.
That realization can change your life in a good way, which is a good long term effect.
You can have a bad trip and become depressed. Which is a bad long term effect.
You will be changed by shrooms. But it really doesn't matter in the long haul.
They are not physically harmful in the long term if thats what your really asking.

Yeah I'm asking about the phyical harm. And I also believe shrooms are a tool. I call them perception enhancers

I like the way you worded that
I'm not the most experienced tripper, but I have yet to notice any real physical changes. Although sightwise I can see and understand visuals a little better if that makes any sense. (Like someone said, you decide if thats good or bad).
I'd also like to recommend The Psychedelic Experience where there would more than likely be posters that could offer more information!
