Woah, there's been a lotta posts since my last ID request. Alas I don't think that first find I posted had any actives in it - no blue staining at all. Thanks for all your responses though.
Since then though found some that are definitely active. Just wondering what species they are? I think they are subs but not experienced enough to be sure. Here are some pics:

Found in a garden covered with pine woodchips in Auckland. First time I've ever found any myself! 450.8g worth. Also, seeing as I haven't had any luck finding spots in the past, I'm wondering if anyone has any idea how long it will take for new shrooms to grow in that same spot?

Hey i found some mushrooms that looked like subs today, but they were growing in grass and im not too sure if theyre subs or maybe something else like galerinas?
Does anyone have any good photos of galerinas so i could compare?

That species will forever have the common name rhizomorphs. In a couple years Inski will probably publish it as P. rhizomorphii.

Aucklandi.
I think your aucklandii actually falls under what people are calling P. subaeruginosa. Can you get access to a microscope?

Hi Alan, At present I dont have access to a microscope although these were growing directly from clay which from what Inski described was an Aucklandi Trate??

I'm sorry guys, I only named my post rhizomorphs because the images were of the rhizomorphs produced by that species! I have a name for that species but will not disclose it yet! Those specimens that you say were growing from the clay really do resemble P. subaeruginosa as Alan said, I think you should get someone to do a microscope examination on those, it is quite possibly neither of the species mentioned! inski.

Weraroa N-Z supposedly only grow south of Wanganui in the North Island, but specimens have been found up north as far as Auckland and in the South Island too.
