Hey there xthrx, are you from new Zealand?
I found those mean p. Subs in a mulch garden growing along with a few little shrubby plants. Tomorrow I will take a photo of where I found them. I definitely didn't expect to find them at school!!!
Thanks, iNDUCT

Yeah, I think I might just, the print turned out to be brownish, and after having a better look at the others left in the spot, I'm thinking the bruising was just dirt.

Hey I hear you guys talking about hunting on the West Coast (Auckland).. I've only ever hunted in suburban/park woodchip gardens, so I got no idea how to hunt out there. I presume it's still subs we're after, and in the pine forests out there (woodhill, riverhead)? Not in the bush right..
From what I remember though the ground in woodhill is basically really sandy dirt covered in pine needles. Doesn't seem that similar to woodchips heh, but I guess if there's rotting branches around that'd be about right.
Any help or tips without getting too specific would be much appreciated . I've had no luck with woodchip gardens yet this season.. My spots still too dry.

You would be very lucky to find Psilocybe subaeruginosa in the habitat you described, it's P. aucklandii you would most likely find, it grows from clay soil not wood chips! inski.

I was recently shroom hunting in NZ for 6 days, and you would have to be blind not to find actives there at the moment. I covered the area of the North Shore in Auckland, and out to woodhill on the west coast, found abundant quantities of aucklandii and subs growing in plain sight. If only here in aussie was quite that good Curse my profit hunting!

Hi again... and thanks for the reply to my first post.
This time I found a few subs (I believe so) and a couple suspicious ones that seem to stain blue. Could you tell me the name of this shroom? I found them in Auckland central in the same spot as before in a public park on bark and wood chip.
  Thanks!

Hi all. Found these growing at the base of a manuka tree in the forest (central Otago). The caps are between 1 and 4 cm, had a sticky top and it has a brown spore print. Any ideas?

Hi all. Have never had much (any) luck with hunting for shrooms but have always put in the effort. Just found these growing in some pine chips and leaves in a park in West Auckland. Any ideas what they are?
