Hey all hows it going, hopefully the hunting is going well... the weather has been pretty good for it.

Anyway I went for my first hunt yesterday afternoon, found a fairly sizable patch of P.subaeruginosa but didnt pick as I'm cautious. However returned early this morning to pick up my first subs of the season.

Good luck and happy hunting.

Fuck!  What a haul! What city are you in?

Hey guys, I found this today, I know its very small and I should've left it but it had fallen over, maybe eaten by bugs, there was more where I found it so I just took this one cause they were all tiny.  Looking for some ID as to whether its good or not. Sorry I have no idea how to make the pics small and then be enlarged

You found a Psathyrella.  If you want to get high, its no good.

Hello! Found these today.. Hoping somebody can just clarify for me what the below type are. In the the top image is the common Subaeruginosa type right.. and in the bottom image is the seemingly rare type that we come across scarcely.. Can somebody please clarify what this type is?

I've always assumed the top image to be "gold tops" and the bottom image "blue meanies"?

Much appreciated, Agradecimiento! Cheers!

Nice finds,
The first one is Psilocybe subaeruginosa, the second one is this yet to be described species that I just had success cultivating!
Rhizomorphs.

Nice work on cultivating them. So there isn't a technical name for this species yet?
Are they are slightly stronger than the Sub's?
Do you notice any significant difference in the type of trip?

Bombardment of questions haha, just intrigued. Thanks

Thanks, they are stronger than Psilocybe subaeruginosa but I suspect that is due to the very dense flesh making them weigh quite a lot more than P. subaeruginosa, no there is no species name for this mushroom yet!
I would describe these as extremely potent and would advise starting with a very low dose for a first time!

Hi potatonet, none to very few mushrooms in New Zealand in summer, our season goes from April through to August which is Autumn and Winter here!
You would be better of coming here in mid May!
inski.

If he's on the other side of the world and is meaning when his summer came, which in effect would be around about our June.  Just a thought.

Hey there funky people, can i pester you with a few questions?
1) how come its better to go picking in the morning?
2) how many days of rain are needed to start growing?
3) will shrooms grow out of fallen leaves?

Got a couple mushrooms growing in my back yard but pretty sure they not active at all i'll post a picture of the mushrooms and my back yard so maybe you can give your 2 cents on if i will get any magical friends growing  thanks

I think its time for me to venture into the western hills of Auckland for some proper hunting, but in the meantime I'd be oh so very grateful if someone could help me id these:

Which look to me like subs? they had a black spore print
as well as:

Which is a long shot but maybe aucklandii, they seem active though as they bruised blue, but they were growing in grass
Sorry about shitty quality photos, plan on getting hold of a better camera
