Shitty pics, but it looks like a decaying Coprinellus micaceus.

Went out for a big hunt out at Woodhill today but only found a few very small aucklandii + a lot of different other ones. Just looking for a possible ID, I dont have a camera but for anyone searching out there before im sure they'd know what im describing. {Dark brown top, small nipple, thin stem, grows abundantly} species? Also {White in middle going to brown on the outsides,no nipple, thin stem, short, also grows abundantly. Any possibly IDS?

That doesn't sound like Psilocybe aucklandii. You should get a camera so you can show us what you are talking about. If it doesn't have a purple-brown spore print and bruise blue where damaged, don't eat it.

I know. I wasnt describing aucklandii, I was describing the other mushrooms I found so i know what they are and can easily distinguish between them all.

My mate who I told to keep an eye out, found a bunch of subs in the bush on the West Coast today! Will post up pics tonight. Shouldn't be a problem flying them back to Wellington eh? Just on an Air NZ link flight.

Wellingtonian here
Well, I've got a spot already, had a few hauls reported by friends a couple weeks ago now... went to the botanical gardens a week ago, round the kids playground... not much though. I saw quite a few that LOOKED like subs, but didn't bruise at all, so I just left em.
mod edit: No asking for exact locations.

Anyone recommend anywhere round the hutt region? I was thinking of Mt. Climbie...
Mt Climbie? I've spent 20years in the Hutt valley and never heard of that place. Where is it? Bot gardens is far too dodgy for me...

wellington hunter reporting in. had a little look around town and also checked out the town belt pine forest out by mount victoria. saw a few little amanitas and little else - it's a pretty cool walk though.
i'm thinking of checking out karori or maybe te aro next. i also might have a little look around the bot gardens seeing as i haven't visited them yet and i've heard they are amazing.
mod edit: No asking for hunting partners.

Just checked Te Aro today, just got home from it. Nothing around, a few LBMs and some little red mushrooms but not a lot.
Here are the ones my mate found on the West Coast, look like subs! He said they are bruising on the stems blue. Ignore the white ones, I've told him to chuck them away.

Ah okay, good to know. I'll tell him to keep a better look out. Should he be looking for subaeruginosas in the West Coast, SI?
Just went for a hunt in bot gardens after saying I wouldn't, nothing around but some interesting mushrooms on a dead tree and an absolute SHITLOAD of little browns absolutely everywhere. There were literally thousands of them all over the place.

Hey! I am so excited. I have been trying to find psylocibe in Auckland for years (2005)and this is the first time I found more than one or two, mainly because I didn't know anyone to ask where to find them. I am pretty sure they are subs, can you help me to identify them? I am doing a print that I will post tomorrow. I found this in central Auckland.

Those are probably Psilocybe subaeruginosa, make sure they all stain blue.

Hey all hows it going, hopefully the hunting is going well... the weather has been pretty good for it.
Anyway I went for my first hunt yesterday afternoon, found a fairly sizable patch of P.subaeruginosa but didnt pick as I'm cautious. However returned early this morning to pick up my first subs of the season.

Good luck and happy hunting.

Hey guys, I found this today, I know its very small and I should've left it but it had fallen over, maybe eaten by bugs, there was more where I found it so I just took this one cause they were all tiny. Looking for some ID as to whether its good or not. Sorry I have no idea how to make the pics small and then be enlarged =\
