:yesnod: But the people must know the truth according to Jethro Tull, lest we die with our death anxiety.

What makes you so bold as to believe you are the authority behind the definition of "truth" that you must want to keep to yourself?

I never said that.  I did say, however, that belief is unnecessary when you know the truth.  I do not want to keep it to myself, or else I wouldn't be on these forums.  I'm not keeping the truth from you; your own mind is blocking you from seeing the truth.  If it weren't, you would know the truth immediately.

If you want to know the truth, you must have faith in the truth.  If you have faith in the truth, you will seek it out.  If you seek the truth, you will find it.  When you see it, faith is no more.  Truth sets you free from faith, beliefs, and attachment to elements of reality.

I am drowning in your metaphors.

What makes you so sure that you know what the truth is?

I am sorry about the metaphors.  If they don't make sense to you, ignore them.

I am sure I know the truth, because I see it in everything.  Truth is self-evident.

The Vedas in the Hindu religion say, "It is."  The mind now is too complex to see the simple truth, and so the mind needs a more detailed explanation.  Hence:  The Present.

It takes a simple mind to see the simple truth.  It takes a lot of medicine (The Present) to simplify the mind and open it to the truth.

Have fun saving the world.

I hope you are able have a touch more humility with the people who aren't able to call you out on your pious attitude.

If you are so concerned with truth, why not concern yourself with concrete concepts?

There is no truth to be found on this planet in concern to "God."

Do you have any support for your claim that there is only one absolute truth?  What if there is no objective reality, and only subjective perception and relative truths?

There is nothing to believe, period.  "that which is" should be taken for what it is; a different perspective from this one.

The whole of science is proof that there is only one absolute truth. Science is getting closer and closer. If there wasn't one absolute truth, science simply wouldn't work. You can argue science changes, but science changes in one certain direction.

The scientific method allows us to discard that which is not true, but this does not mean that we will ever discover that which is not false.  Theories claim no permanent status as fact; instead they only await their turn at the slaughterhouse of conflicting empirical evidence.

You haven't heard of the USTS (United Scientific Truth Squad)?

They are moments away from exposing the Truth and silencing the naysayers.

They have already proven that "whatever will be, will be."
