Culture Growth of Lions Mane

The petri dish cultures I made from Lions Mane produced a small area of white mycelium and then seemed to stop its growth.
I made 5 slants from the dishes and the growth in the slants is almost non-existent.
I see the slice if mycelium and agar from the dish in the slant and very little growth beyond that.
Compared to the other mushrooms I created slants on - they seemed to love the slants and grew very quickly.
I have read several posts that Lions Mane grows very thinly - you may not even see it.
Is this true?
What would cause a culture not to grow/expand itself?

Bump
Isn't there a Master that can comment to the grasshopper on Lions Mane mycelium growth -- in dish or slant?

I'm no master...but the same has happened to me on every plate of Lions I've done. It stretches out slowly (in the visible form) like branches...then stops and doesn't do anything there after. Such a peculiar strain it is.

Same here .... Im having issues with it as well.
Does the exact same thing for me, grows out for a little while, then just stops.

Hericium erinaceus isn't a compact mycelium like Pleurotus ostratus, or similar.
I still have wedges of the "Roger Rabbit" strain. It's a really good performer. I've another strain called "Iceberg" that's slower and less compact of the "Roger Rabbit" one. This however it's totally normal, you'll see the surface of the mycelium change when will fruit and you'll ask to yourself "From where does this compact mycelium come?!"
If you want any of the Roger Rabbit strain email me at info@bemushroomed.com, actually I'm still cleaning the "Iceberg" strain.
ciao, Fabio
