They are a very interesting specimen - not copes though. You should definitely print one and keep one dried specimen.

They are possible just a sub variant, the SA subs seem to have a unique bell shaped cap on them.

im new to all this, and have only have one experience so far, that was mellow, and not to exciting. I really want one good trip before the seasons out. What are the chances of finding any subs around still? and if so can anyone tell me the best place to find them, dont need a massive amount.

had a great hunt down south yesterday. got about 50 nice subs but so many were dry and contaminated. it may be still worth looking around ppl but only small amounts around. Has anyone found that late in season when it is much dryer that subs are more potent?

Also saw a really cool looking mushroom, well what i would assume to be a mushroom:
habitat: pine forest growing on dead tree stump
cap: bright red and sparkly shiny, very soft, red 'blood' came out when touched
stem: white and very weak
not taken from forest
does anyone have any idea what it could be?
