I am not lost at all. Sorry for being in an exclusive thread. I didn't realize you could be so touchy.....You are welcome to post in the Melbourne thread. As for the fight thing, grow up. I don't come on these boards to cause trouble, ummagumma and myself have resolved our differences and I look forward to making him feel at home when he comes to Melbourne...Maybe one day I can do the same for you. I didn't mean to disrespect anyone, I was actually responding to durantz and nobody else.

Durantz, you dont need a fan, just an oven mate. put it on its lowest setting put the mushrooms in and leave the door open an inch or so and they will dry nicely...unless you are impatient like me then you take them out too early and after a few days they start to go mouldy :frown:

Went to my normal spot today but it was farmed out, bugger. Might go again tomorrow and see if there are any that have sprouted overnight, Im interested to see how quickly they spawn anyway.

Does anyone here have much success in the many pine forests around? Seen many shrooms in them but none of the subs I know are active.

I went for a hunt today, got about 100 subs. But none in the pine forests. I have never found them in pine forests except for one location.
The rest have been in eucalyptus.

You sir are a dick and obviously know nothing. I have read some of your posts towards other members and you never have much positive to contribute. It figures when you use words like "drill". I am OVER the matter and so is ummagumma, ask him if you know him.

To the rest of South Australia, sorry for causing this shit storm.  :shitstorm:

I have found ONE sub in a pine forest. I know in the old days friends used to always go to the pine forests, so they must grow there.
I wonder if there are just heaps of people that look there first.

Does anyone know exactly how subs propagate? is it via a bulb, root, spore or a mix of all? obviously they have spores, but is that thier main method of reproduction?
Is there a possibility they are being farmed out? But if they reproduce via spore (in the millions I would assume) then how is this possible? but if thats the case, then when I leave an old one behind, why isnt there a whole heap of them there next time I come back?

LOL.

Be happy guys, life is too short to argue about it.

mushroom spores are the "seed" of fungi.  mycelium the "plant". mushrooms are the  "flower".  general and very rough outline. can be propogated via mycelium and spores.  they serve the purpose of cleaning up natures mess, guess so many spores doesnt equal so many mushrooms because of survival of the fittest/competition, but maybe spores can lie dormant for a number of years in the soil(?).

Havent found many inside a pine forest, but subs love to break down dead rotted down pine.

yeah all my parents hippy friends would always talk about the good old days of the magical mushroom enchanted pine forests, trip this awe struck that, found one over hear, don't no how we drove home. those type of stories

also just the other week a couple of my friends went out to this annual mushroom get together near kuipto forest and they said that they had found a couple of bucket fulls or so.

so in conclusion i would have to say, there are active mushies out there
peace.:mushroom2:

Well, Ive been looking around a bit on the web. Cheers for the info guys.
It really seems that they should be growing quite well in pine forests as well as eucalypt. I have noticed each time Ive been to the pine forest that there are always evidence of mushrooms being tampered with (turned over and stuff) so Im suspecting that there are just lots of people that go to pine forests to find them.
I know when I started looking the first place I went was pine forests and I know that people Ive chatted to that used to spend a lot of time hunting them all went to pine forests.
So, thats my theory. Pine forests are good, they are just farmed out

I might spend a bit of time going deep into a pine forest and seeing if that produces better results.

I've definitely seen them in pine forest, weren't as prolific as amongst the eucalypts across the road though (Mt Crawford way - dead fox...)

Anyone know of any in the <snip>

Mod edit:  Asking for specific locations is not allowed.

You should be doing this over PM so that the thread remains on topic and the rest of us don't have to deal with it.

All I did was come into the SA thread to comment on someones finds, a positive comment...someone had a go at me for something, that was resolved. Then ol' Mushie-troll jumps on my back because he is a troll and doesn't contribute(can't even take a photo properly, look at his avatar-LOL).And to top it off has only been here for what-half a season? I have been here for a few years and try to contribute positively when I can, look in the Melbourne 09 and previous New Zealand threads...........I too regret posting in this thread and wont waste my time again.
