All this time I've loved you
And never known your face
All this time I've missed you
And searched this human race
Here is true peace
Here my heart knows calm
Safe in your soul
Bathed in your sighs

Wow, to imagine that anybody could get their feelings hurt because of a debate in P&S is kinda weird.

Actually "choose to have their feelings hurt" would be the correct way to put it IMO.

We all get upset from time to time. That's human, some more than others. Depending on your state of "enlightenment".:satansmoking:

I'm not a first time poster, but I haven't formally introduced myself.  So, I'll begin by saying I'm 34, went to a small private liberal arts college where I majored in Psychology and minored in Art and Music.

relax, i'm here

my name is jack burton but some of you know me as b0red5tiff

i'm pretty cool and beautiful and well versed in irony & sarcasm & the mystical arts (getting a woman to like you).

my family has never been religious or interested in anything spiritual or philosophic. they are materialists and i got into mysticism or whatever by myself.

i hated school, got into the university, dropped out after a few months because i wanted to live without it. i believe in natural intelligence, meaning some people are born with the ability to learn no matter what they do & where they do it. i'm a writer and i like to learn about the world on my own terms.

careers don't interest me, i just wanna do what i do well. i'd like to do whatever i like and enjoy it. of course it would be cool if it brought in some money.

my interest towards P&S roughly went like this: people seemed to follow some behavioural patterns they didn't notice so even as a kid i saw how people bend to the will of others and are easy to manipulate without them even knowing it. that lead me to look up witchcraft, because i thought power like that HAS TO BE hidden and mysterious. then i went to general psychology, then i discovered laveyan satanism which unites pop culture mythology with basic psychology. i quickly took what i wanted from it and found it lacking. somehow i stumbled unto discordianism/chaos magick (probably through crowley, unto whom i tripped while reading up on satanism). that really blew my mind and gave me a lot to think about and practice.

in the end i've kind of taken something from everything and made up my own metasystem that is like water: no matter what shape i may take it fills me up perfectly. it has no value in itself or without me and it can be cast away like worthless piece of trash if i wanna.

my core values are awesomeness and powers of providing egoless self-descriptions! actually i don't think i have any core values, why should i?

anyway i am SUPER SPECIAL

The Political forum has a stickied thread which asks posters to describe their background & perspective, and it garners many interesting responses.  In the interest of  both the need for civilized discussion AND an appreciation for the roots of one's philosophical/spiritual perspective, I'd like to create a similar thread.

You are free to frame your response in any format which makes sense to you, but if you are stumped, here are some questions to answer:

1.  What was your upbringing?  Did your family have money?  Were they religious?  Did they discuss philosophy and/or spirituality with you?

2.  How was your educational experience?  Did you enjoy school?  Were you academically-oriented, or disinterested?  How much of your education has found application in your daily life?

3.  What career interests you?  Are you working in this career now?  Do you feel satisfied in your work, or is it mainly a paycheck job?  What work would you do if you did not have to earn money?

4.  Has your philosophy/spirituality changed much over the years?  Have you had epiphanies or rude awakenings which led you to reconsider your beliefs/values?  At what age did you first become interested in philosophy/spirituality?

5.  What are your core values?  How are these values expressed in your daily life?  Do you feel that your values are similar or dissimilar to those of the majority?

I'll post my own "profile" in a bit.  :sun:

I decline to answer any questions regarding my personal life.  To do so on a message board like this is silly. I thought that about Redstorm's thread as well.  I don't need to explain who I am in order to be civil nor do I need it for others to be civil toward me.  Nevertheless, while I disagree philosophically with this idea, I think it's intention was well meant.

Besides, collecting information on your enemies is fun.  Who knows when you'll need it.

this is ego speaking... i think i'm better then you all, by humiliate, by showing my glory, by rising above all, by hearing others lowlife story, by telling my glory, compassion to others, kind, how i help the weeks and poor and lowlife people, i'm best of the best there is no better then me!
arrogance--arrogance--arrogance--arrogance--arrogance--arrogance blah blah blah...

to the question of this thread> Who Are You? > nothing! empty space!

God is the most humble, modest, meek, lowly and like a human he is nothing an empty space.
but people don't agree with it because they don't want to be nothing they want to be something, we can rise above others, our self and even above God!!!

WE ALL A BIG NOTHING!!!!!!

see, some of us are friends here and we like to know about one another, because that is an aspect of friendship.  our lifestyles, backgrounds, and beliefs are interesting to some here, especially those whom are close friends, or enemies.  if you've ever had a close friendship you would know.  the only way to become close is to know.

i have enjoyed reading this thread, especially the threads with the posters i am most engrossed by.  does that make me arrogant?  perhaps, but it makes me more of a lover.

Who iam...

People say im quiet some think im outgoing...

Really do you have to be one sort of you at a time? geez dont judge so fucking fast you douche groupie freeloaders. Buy your own posion and you wouldnt need to worry about how the provider feels...

Im actually very mellow and I hate idle chit chat so yes some times im very quiet...Why would I need to say something if it didnt call for it every minute? I mean shit if I wanna sit back and think to myself starring into space far from everyone here on earth for a good 40 min with a 40 in my lap and a full blunt being passed every 10min for the next 30min then fuck you I will and if I come out strong over your stupid remarks on how I feel think about it after you ask me for the 40th time a-otta. Shit that bothers me when close friends judge you when your drunk and not sober is retarded...drunk im very spontaneous and shit ill do cartwheels in wheelchairs then jump at you 3 feet in the air laughing. Ill blackout 3 hours before I actually stop moving and talking to you. By that I mean I will ride a motorized skooter 40mph perfectly in traffic without even remembering it or have full on conversations that come out clear no slur without even knowing it. Then 3 hours later finally realise unconsciously that im not really present and stumble on a coffe table nearly driving a nail into my arm and put to bed in a girl friends bed with no idea how I woke up there and suddenly have the runny shits end up going in a plastic bag outside my sisters locked apt. rlly hoping our mother was up...

Normaly im mellow dont really start talk but will definently lead one if started.

I was a very hyper kid in my youth was given codeine cough syrup by my mother most nights. I often blurted out odd thing most kids wouldnt dream of saying without a odd look or cold glare. I often went overboard in fitting in with any crowd in last years of my elementary education. I got into alot of trouble but rarely I was smart enough to ditch and comeback b4 class started again I didnt care either way because my friend thought it cool of me and he actually looked up to me in that respect which years later I regret. I broke windows and other troublemaking things in my late elementary ed. and early middle ed. but during the middle ed after switching from 4 schools already from old friends to new to old. After a year in mid school I became more of a loner not because others disliked me no I had many many friends from over the years its just I didnt like socialising because it made me feel uneasy in my later years because I felt socialising was more of a job then a fun pass time. I made friends with more of the odd kids who didnt have many friends and that was most comfortable. They were mostly teased often and others assholes would use me as a better rolemodel towards them by saying how I keep up with styles with well kept hair that looked like it took a whole 15min to do. They didnt usually even fix theyre hair some of them were very poor and my best friend came from a richer area to visit his dad who was getting out of jail soon. He lived in the downtown bulldog projects with the spicks and drug dealing koreans. I remember when visiting we got weed from this one asian who I thought was a herm because she looked pale with male features but had the slender body of a girl along with the feminine voice that had a strong accent when pronouncing words as "axe" instead of "ask" or "yeeeAH maing". That was sortve funny comming out of her mouth...odd thing is I really felt sexually attracted to her after finding out she was a girl which wasnt too hard lol. She brought huge bamboo pipes and bongs to us which were nice decorations.

I never enjoyed life too much because everything felt wrong or regretable. I started feeling like that when middle school maturing was a competetion. Ugh I remember my terrible acne too lol damn it sucked going into the gym locker room since the lighting was very floraescent on my red pimples and white skin. I never liked sports except soccer and football...lol ok so I did but wasnt a huge fan. I despised b-ball hated it so much. I played soccer in elementary and football in middle school. Niggers always had racial remarks towards me for being white so I think nigger suites my idealogy of those african americans who acts like racial garbage and expect unequal rights over those white people they discriminate against openly. Though...that nigger was my friend for 5 years but I never liked him and to show im not entirely backwards most of my friends werent white since whites are minority in Fresno, CA. I grew up with nothing but hispanic, black, and of course some whites. I consider myself to be a little bit of hispanic upbringing but technically white.

My life at home from age 5 was always hell at some point. Violent remarks towards both parents most nights leading into a call from a rat-bastard neighbor who knew a some powerful people in law. His name was Chet and he made sure there was trouble to those in the area that didnt agree 80% of what he did. Luckily my dad was a strong person he was in his late 30's when he had me just got clean from crank and dealing crank. My mom smoked during pregnancy and mightve done a drugs mostly weed I feel she did some drinking and meth cus she's the need her drugs type or she wont function right.

Had to deal with 5 break ups 2 step mothers and the stress put on me to go with my dad since my mom commited suicide but lived. I actually loved my mom more because she was fun my dad worked all day did vicodin for pain and crashed for 3 hours after comming home and woke up to either visit us or argue with my mother or us. I love him though hes the type I can count on no matter what. He doesnt say much when it comes to expressing feelings but he shows them when it counts.

After the attempt at suicide my life turned around my mom was now the enemy. She was hospitalized for 4 weeks. She changed drasticaly from a caring mother to a have sex in open knowing we were over but out at a friends possibly returning at any moment....

see, some of us are friends here and we like to know about one another, because that is an aspect of friendship.  our lifestyles, backgrounds, and beliefs are interesting to some here, especially those whom are close friends, or enemies.  if you've ever had a close friendship you would know.  the only way to become close is to know.

i have enjoyed reading this thread, especially the threads with the posters i am most engrossed by.  does that make me arrogant?  perhaps, but it makes me more of a lover.

if you interested in other people it's becouse you not interesting your self by your self
and it's not possible to know human and your self becouse.. like living organism we can be changed either we want or not sometimes we change and we not aware of it, and same as life or even as God, we are unpredictable, one day we kiss and love each other and other day we want to fuck and kill each other, so like i said we are an empty space.

it's always like this, people who are arrogant it's becouse they feel good, free and comfort, but if to put them in sorrow and pain, they will be humble and lowly.

you think this is true for the whole of humanity?

man what an assumption!

your definition of arrogance also seems to stem from your own personal opinions and belief system more so than that of what the word actually means.  this makes your logic a bit skewed.
