Thankfully Admin is too busy to read every post and fight the information wars on the behalf of record companies so the threads will remain open but we can no longer link directly to file-host sites, we may however link to sites that link to file hosts.
File hosts will never be shut down and soon we will be sharing full lossless CDs this is the FREE INFORMATION age and the industry WILL NOT DIE, they will find new ways to make $$$ like they always do.

An amazing look into Will Oldham's mind. Pitchfork gave it a perfect 10 and Johnny Cash covered a song off it. 'nuff said, just grab it and listen to every word this man says.

I saw them last weekend. It was a lot different than when I saw Oldham by himself.

Yes, it was very good. It was strange, though, because it was a lot more lively and upbeat than I expected. When I saw him alone at an acoustic set it was very melancholy. I suppose that comes with the setting.

well have you listened to his newer music? he's really found a love for god, and seems pretty happy compared to his younger days.

Balls, I was getting ready to post something when I read that sticky. If I started a blog and put my link on there everything's gravy?

Maybe. I mean, I think it was a label representing some albums in the ambient/experimental thread that asked for the links removed (which is kosher), but yeah, if you post a blog and a band/label asks you to take down a link, you should probably do it (unless you're into being threatened with teh legal actions)
A lot of these albums are semi-big names (anything on sub pop or similar is not guaranteed to stay active.. well really nothing is likely to stay active that long unless the artist is looking for the exposure)... but yeah. It can work. I've said it before though, it's not hard for someone searching for an album to find a blogspot on google. If you want to be sneaky, misspell album & band names in the uploaded zips/rars, and on your blog, so search engines don't catch it.

Anything in here like Broken Social Scene? I'm usually pretty anti-Indie, but I love this band. Would love to hear some similar stuff.

See my journal for an indefinitely incomplete archive of this thread. I'm sure there's some BSS or BSS presents somewhere in there.
Also can a mod lock this with a "PM jewunit for details" message? I don't think we should be bumping these threads anymore.
