oh man... i gotta be honest, i'm not sure how i feel about their move away from the lo-fi.  granted, i'm only a song or so into Easy Beat, so maybe it'll still grow on me.  but my initial impression is one of disappointment.  i loved that fuzzy fuzz so!

Aw man I love Beach House...have you listened to Papercuts?

I have not, but I just read that the Quever fellow collaborated with Casiotone for the Painfully alone who I like lots and was actually the next album I was going to up. You should totally up their best album if possible.

also, Masters of None by Beach House is one of the most beautiful tracks I've ever heard.

Oh yeah here's that CFTPA album, Pocket Symphonies for Lonesome Subway Cars.

It's a lo-fi, electronic, emo album. And that sounds like a really bad mixture of things but it works very well in my opinion. Pretty sure he just used an old casio keyboard for this entire album.

Here are three short albums from a post-rock band called Verticals

Quote:

Verticals is one of the most interesting young bands of the Russian club stage playing modern music in full sense of this word. In their creativity interwine lyrical emotional melodies, explosive drive and experimental noisy sketches. Musicians are very creative - they try to combine different styles and trends: from heavy guitar reeves up to psyshedelic landscapes, from prompt rhythms up to melancholic melodies. «We always tried to play the Music», - guys speak. « Beautiful melodies, alive drive and experiment with a sound were always important for us. Basically we spend time on rehearsals where we play as loudly as possible - in fact only so it is possible to understand where music "swings", and where there are no We never hesitated to play that would be desirable - did not adhere ourselves to any certain stylistics as many musicians do». Indeed, on alive performances musicians give out a powerful stream of energy, and create a unique atmosphere which so is pleasant to their admirers.
Gathered together in March, 2005 of the splinters of different bands, guys have started to work above a new material which would suit them on all of hundred percent. The band searched for the sound, constantly experimenting and perfecting the skill, and at last has found the calling in indie and post-rock music.

[01] Verticals - Live Sessions(EP) - 2006
[02] Verticals - So Long(Single) - 2006
[03] Globalizm - 2005

Yeah they are old school and have since went down hill (still one of my favorites though).

These albums are by far their two best full lengths.

Lemme know if you guys dig them and I'll up some more.

If you liked that Shaky Hands CD then chances are you'll enjoy this, another wonderful indie pop rock record. It's more mellow, and not summery at all but an incredible album nonetheless. Been playing the shit out of this for a while.

the album as a whole will take some time to grow on me.  definitely not my favorite type of music.  but i gotta say, 'oh, la' really stood out to me as a track.  i really enjoy the violin (cello, at times?) work on this album, though

edit:  the music/melody sort of reminds me of penguin cafe orchestra
