 LSD Proves to be Miracle Cure for Cluster Headaches

(NaturalNews) A review published in the respected journal Neurology has confirmed widespread evidence that LSD can be used to successfully treat an otherwise devastating and crippling health condition known as "cluster headaches."
Often confused with migraines, cluster headaches come in attacks so debilitating that they have been known to drive sufferers to kill themselves, earning them the nickname "suicide headaches." Because 90 percent of sufferers experience a form known as episodic cluster headaches, in which attacks come regularly at the same time of day for a few months before vanishing for up to a year, they are also known as "alarm clock headaches."
Researchers do not know what causes the headaches, and there is no accepted treatment. One business owner who goes by the pseudonym "Flash" on Internet message boards related to the condition relates his experience with various treatments: "My doctor did the worst thing you can do to a person with cluster headache: he put me on normal analgesics. Aspirin, paracetamol, codeine -- doubling up on the codeine -- taking whatever you're allowed to each day," Flash says. "It took the lining off my stomach, and it aggravated the attacks until they got out of control."
Other popular treatments such as beta-blockers, blood pressure medications and antidepressants led to other dangerous side effects, such as a slowing of the heart rate and psychotic symptoms.
Eventually, Flash decided to experiment with LSD, and found that after one dose, his attacks immediately stopped for the next two years. When he felt the next attack looming, he experimented with psilocybin mushrooms ("magic mushrooms"), which were just as effective. The mushrooms were even effective at stopping an attack that he had deliberately exacerbated with alcohol, as a test.
Anecdotal accounts like Flash's have attracted the attention of some researchers, who note that many hallucinogenic compounds are chemically similar to certain neurotransmitters and migraine medications.
Harvard Medical School researcher John Halpern, author of the Neurology article, has even applied to the university for permission to conduct a clinical trial.
"It is a life-or-death situation for some of these patients," Halpern said.

Cluster headaches are very painful and very real. A young friend of mine has suffered them for years up to the point of multiple hospital trips. I do hope that these experiments prove positive as a cure for them.

In my experience this is very truthful. I used to suffer from constant headaches and anxiety until i ate magic mushrooms.

there's been reports posted of the same effect from psilocybe mushrooms. I believe the john hopkin's study had something to do with this but i don't remember (edit: the related topics have a bit to do with it, or at least it looks like it). It's no surprise LSD also works...
what are cluster headaches though? i suppose i could google it, but i'll just ask...
I get frequent headaches (4-10 a week). sometimes so painful i just can't do anything but writhe in pain... never in the same spot either one time the headache may be focus at the base of the brain others it'll be right in front or focused on one side... my mom always had lots of headaches, so i always thought it was normal, but the older i get, the more i realize most people just don't get headaches as often... I've never talked to a doctor about it because up until recently i thought it was just a natural thing to get headaches and i happened to get them frequently... I'm not suggesting i have cluster headaches at all, i have no idea what one is thats why i asked.
it's just something that's been on my mind for a few months... The only reason i wonder is because LSD and mushrooms usually help any headaches i may have...
obviously, i plan to ask my doctor about the headaches next time i see him, but i'd rather stick with my pot smoking regimine than start a new pharm schedule...

i used to have bad headaches.. the point to where id be punching walls out and the pain would engulf my whole skull. i ate some shroomies once and they have been gone for a whole year. just recently, they began to come back more and more frenquently and more painfully. i ate two HBWR seeds and now there gone again. crazy but i love this medicine, i hated those headaches so much! im so happy there gone, thank god for psychedelics! i wonder if salvia may help it headaches as well, i kind of doubt it since it has different properties than lsd, mushies and HBWR seeds..

Mushrooms decreased the frequency of my headaches, THC helped to manage the pain. I'm no longer able to use THC, as I live in a place where it is illegal, and my headaches are steadily worsening in intensity.

ive always heard about shrooms curing cluster headaches but just always though it was a myth, good to know that if i ever suffer from this that a batch of shrooms could solve the problem

This should come as no surprise. Ergotamine tartrate is used quite often in regular migraine headache relief. LSD is a related derivative compound. I'm surprised that anecdotal evidence as to this benefit didn't come SOONER.

I think the utility of using LSD and psilocybin to treat cluster headaches is a good hypothesis.
Unfortunately, the "evidence" behind this assertion is weak. Once again proving the biased nature of "natural news".

its all about chemicals in your brain. i was having migraines real bad in iraq like 2 times a week. ex wife stress. i took 4.5 grams of shrooms and it kinda felt like a migraine.

The Mazatec Indians in the mountains of Oaxaca, Mexico have used Salvia divinorum for centuries for medicinal relief of headaches.
It might make for a more suitable medicine, considering the short half-life and mild effects when taken in low doses.
I have experienced headaches after smoking Salvia, but I cannot directly attribute them to Salvia.
An any case, it might serve me right for somking 40x.
Perhaps high doses of Salvinorin A could potentiate headaches while low doses dissipate them.

This article doesn't prove a thing. 'Flash is guy who posts in online forums, lol probably someone from shroomery who is pro-psycedellic's
I'm not saying that I don't want good press from these substances- but all of these flawed, half assed articles are getting old. Maybe since nobody can write a good article on the topics is a sign that maybe they don't really have as many benefits as we wish.
Maybe we should stop using 'oh but mushrooms and lsd could have very positive benefits' to rationalize with our recreational drug use.
Whether or not they are used in medical practice doesn't mean they aren't fun, inspirational ect..

It has been known for some time (years) that LSD and psilocybin can be used to effectively treat/cure cluster headaches. The fact that people who suffer from this debilitating condition cannot legally obtain the medicine they need is outrageous.
The worst part is that they would only need to trip ONCE to stop the headaches for a year or more, yet the government will still not allow it. It may have something to do with the fact that pharmaceutical companies can only sell the drug to you one time, whereas with the bullshit headache medicine--codeine, ibuprofen, aspirin, all that shit--they can profit off of it multiple times.
I don't know, it just pisses me off I guess.

lbtchnlgs, they don't NEED to prove a thing. This has been proven. Tryptamine hallucinogens cure 90% of sufferer's cluster headaches or migraines. It's not wishful thinking, or something that could happen "down the road from now", people ARE self-medicating with these drugs, and it's working a hell of a lot better than what doctors are prescribing them.
And I believe flash is from the clusterbusters forum.
