Today was supposed to be my heavy day.  I only got through one ladder, i'm sore as fuck from the RKC yesterday - so I'm going to take a day or two off.  I think my body needs the rest.

I went and got a baby bell for the wife to do TGU's with and the kids to use. The place I went to was cool. Just for buying a bell I get 5 free classes, and one of the guys is RKC certified.

We took it up a notch today, and I actually found myself wishing for a heavier bell. It was intense, but a tad bit more weight would have been nice. After taking a month and a half off from the gym, I was a little sluggish out of the gate, but I'm getting my momentum up and I can already see minor changes in my body.

Good stuff all around.

Read naked warrior, everything you need to know about pistols - and more.

I'm glad to hear you guys are still enjoying the KBs so much.  My mom is finally going to go to the "kettlebell" class at her gym tonight.  She usually does some dance/exercise hybrid garbage, but I finally convinced her to give KBs a shot.  I know she'll acknowledge the incredibly efficient nature of the workout, but I'm not sure if she has the mental strength to stick with such a rigorous exercise method.

As far as my training is concerned.... I have to take a few weeks off :frown:  That pain in my left testicle I posted about a week or two back turned into a fairly consistant dull pain in both testicles - and since yesterday the pain was intensified any time my abs were braced.

So I scrambled around to find a free clinic around here (no health insurance) and found a GREAT facility.  It's just one doctor, who has a practice in the first floor of his house, with one nurse to help him out.  He takes walk ins, same-day appointments, and every visit is $50.

I called at 9:30, got an 11:15 appt.  Walked in the door at 11:00, was being examined by 11:10, was diagnosed by 11:20, prescribed and billed by 11:25, and out the door by 11:30.  Best doctors visit I've ever had.  Turns out I have epididymitis

Prostate exams suck :mad2:

I am sorry you have to stop for awhile.  Keep doing something though.  If you can walk every day, do that.  Keep in the mindset that you are preparing yourself to start kettlebells again in perfect condition.  Get totally well and then be a monster again

Dang meams, I hate to hear that. I've had it too. May sound wacky but get you some cranberry juice, fresh is best, but unless you have a juicer, that could be an issue. They have good concentrates at the health food places, and while they are still pasteurized, they will help. Drink man, drink.

Had a good day today, kept it light, but we did more than we did last week and barely broke a sweat, so that was nice. The oldest boy and the girls are really getting their form down on swings and a couple other moves. The girls (10 & 8) can both do full pistols

I bet you guys know. On one of the youtube videos, one of the guys was swinging this massive looking baseball bat thing, but I can't find it now. Anyone know what it was called?

I think they're called clubbells.  I think Hue & sunflower use 'em occasionally

I use a 20lb club. If you were a baseball player it would be just the thing.

I am presently doing hopping pistols!

If you have problems with balance (like I did) just wrap a towel around both doorknobs on a door facing you.  Lean your body forward a little and center your weight on the leg doing the work.

My friend found a Pavel tutorial online on calisthenics for this stuff.  He didn't mention the towel trick.  I figured that out.

Pistols rock for the sex muscles. Oh yeah!

Hey Meams, I feel your pain (but not in the testicle). I am having some hip issues so I haven't able to exercise much (I want to kettle bell so badly!).  Luckily Yoga is still fine for me, If I couldn't do Yoga or exercise I would go crazy so fast.

That's just sick. I'm trying the GTG approach to pistols. I'll give that towel idea a shot, sound great. How long did it take you to work up to where you were at, or were you always a beast?

And meams, hang in there man.

WOOOOT!!! IM BACK!

I hit the gym today and had a huge smile on my face as I hurled around those balls of iron.  I did a good warm up and then did some TGU, just a set of snatches to see how they felt, and then some swings to end it off.  I took it easy, but my back and hips feel wonderful.

I think a lot of the problems I had stemmed from bad posture after my workouts so I am trying to be super dilligent about my posture. I love it kettle bells are helping me improve my posture, something I have always had trouble with.  And If I don't good posture, I will get pain, damn good motivation to sit up strait.

I am going to go see someone for some Active Release/visceral manpulation to help set all my connective tissue back into place, but exercising felt great.

I read what Pavel had said about bad posture after a workout causing pain because the back is loose and re-aligning its self.

I had no pain working out, just an amazing time.

I can't wait to get my own chunks of iron to hurl around.

Now I'm using my new roller to get those waste products out and keep my piriformis loose.

I will update tomorrow to let you all know how my back feels.  It will probably be sore, but the problems from before seem to be getting better.

One thing I do know though is my connective tissue feels like it is messed up around my sacrum, causing a lot og tension.  I think some visceral manipulation will help that out.  It is odd, because it is my right pirirformis, and it was causing tightness on the right side of my sacrum, but now I am getting it on the left side (before the workout, so it wasn't the bells).  I am going to go see a phisyo too because my illiac crest is so mangles and I want some advice.

I am so happy hurling that ball of iron felt good, kettle bells give me the biggest smile.

Endorphins FTW!

I'm a little guy.  My legs are strong from carrying ruck sacks that weigh more than me.

Man.  This whole not-working-out thing is driving me bonkers.  The most I can do is 5 chin-ups a day without worrying myself sick about causing more damage.

The testicular pain is pretty much gone.  It comes back for a minute a few times a day when my meds are wearing off (antibiotics & aleve).  Hopefully I can get back to my KBs in ~2 weeks or so

I just took a few weeks off because my hip and back were all out of whack.  Luckily I could still do yoga.  After working out on Friday my back and hips have been getting way better, but I also got a foam roller which is helping.  Just wait until you feel 100%, after a few weeks off it felt so good to go back to the gym.  Now my legs are still sore, taking time off makes me sore.

Now my gym is closed for Easter, so I have to wait until Tuesday to go work out.  It will be a nice break from studying.

I have been looking at some kettle bells to buy, I could get a vinyl dipped 16kg bell for 105 CAN w/ shipping.

Does anyone have experience with these?  Is the handle nicer on the hands?
