Would heating the entire jar after you add naptha work? If you add the hot naptha it's going to cool down in the room temp base water thus making the heating step pointless.
Also, if you wait 24 hours before pulling from the jar wouldn't the naptha loose any extraction potential gained by heating and just return the extra dmt to the base solution?
I know nothing about chemistry to base these statements on. just curious.

Yeah, if you have a septic tank you're basically killing 2 birds with 1 stone when it comes to the lye. Otherwise just aim for the sewer. That's what they're there for.

Mine didn't at all, after I poured off the naptha and let it sit by a fan for a while the smell changed from naptha to a plastic type of smell. I think it kind of smells like new shoes.

A friend of a friend's roomates uncle  told me that it's super fucking easy. But it works a lot more smoothly if you have a nice separatory funnel. Heating the solution in a hot water bath also increases the yeilds... so I've heard.

Hmm I'm not sure, I've only done one extraction but mine tastes kind of like mothballs. What kind of naptha did you use?

It shouldn't smell like naptha. All the solvent should have evaporated off leaving the DMT smelling distinctly synthetic (sort of plastic-like).
I'd recommend another round of CFC

I guess it's kinda a plasticy smell, but it remindes me of the smell of the naptha, I used ACE vm&p naptha.

Got a question for anyone whos been doin this...
How long does it take for the basified water to clear up? Mine has been sitting a good 15 or 20 minutes, and is still pretty cloudy and fairly warm...
And should I wait until it DOES clear up to add the bark? Or is there really any importance in that.

IME it's never taken more than 10 minutes to clear, but I add slowwwwwww.
I'd wait a little longer (at least til it cools down, shouldn't be more than another 10 minutes... put a fan on it or something if you're really concerned), then just add the bark. Even if it's a little cloudy, you shouldn't have any problems.
