Won't do it, I have them off when I'm gone at work and sleep that's 16 hrs right there, good enough.

Everyone wants to change the world ,nobody wants to get off thier lazy ass to do anything about it.
So everything will stay the same.....a bunch of complainers ,but no action takers.
Thats why I seldom listen to the diarrhea that comes out of most peoples mouths,it`s not like they will act on any information they learn,so basically they are just blowing smoke up each others ass.

It would be a huge pain in the ass for me to turn off my lights for an hour when it's dark outside. What am I supposed to do just sit and stare at the wall?
I recycle, I compost, I use fluorescent bulbs in most all of my lights...I don't see why I should feel guilty about not turning my lights off at a stupid time

Honestly, I am surprised how many people were not just against, but so openly hostile to this idea. Its not like turning off one's lights requires a lot of effort or sacrifice. But whatever.

Most my lamps are off 80% of the evening.
That is: I use compact fluorescents throughout my house. Good ones that give warm pleasant light, and have a warranty to burn 15.000 hours or you get a new one.
Some of em are as small as a pingpong ball.
People who want to help the environment should get CFL's and insulate their homes instead of overloading the grid with power surges in mass actions.

I can't stand CFL's, they are costly and the light they give off is really dull and too much in the blue spectrum. LEDs FTW. Plus CFLs are filled with mercury, no bueno. I turned off my electricity last night, not just to as they say 'save the planet', I just like the idea of world participation in slowing things down, taking a step back. No electricity just stargazing for an hour and some marijuana, seems healthy for a population. meh
