My shiitake block

Sorry for the poor image quality...
There's a little bit of blackness on the smaller mushroom in the first pic. Is this reason for concern? I'm worried it may be rot or bacterial infection. Doesn't look too funky, though.
This is the first time I've grown shiitake's....never realized quite how majestic and beautiful they are until now.

Nice! But I can't see the second and the third pic, there is not enough luminosity... Or is it just me ?

The picture quality is awful. I'm using my Quickcam and indoor lighting.
I'll take some more pics of them with my video camera tomorrow in natural daylight....should be better.

Congratulations
If the black portions of the mushroom do not turn into slimy lesions, but just remain as discoloration then it is not a contaminant.

More shiitake pics. Does it look like I?ve left this fruiting long enough for spore production? I note that the edges have rolled out...or does it need to sit longer?

I let that one fruit to what I presume is full maturity...although it doesn't seem to have many (if any) spores.
Yours are different? Would you like a culture of my strain?
