Ganoderma applanatum

I think these are Ganoderma applanatum

I picked this one a year ago on a dead cottonwood tree in Iowa.Spores are brown.See the finger prints from when i picked it.I want to start making tea from them if they are Ganoderma applanatum.It was a hot summer day when i picked and in the sun light you could see spores coming from all of them on this one tree.p.s the bottom was white when i picked it

Apparently those release 5 trillion spores a year, crazy.

Ya one day they were just pumping spores out. You could see it from 20 feet away.

So do you think the rumors of growing reishi and walking into a rust spore cloud are true? I didn't believe it was so bad with this genus....
