Smells like sour oranges?

2 jars from pf tek in a small casing. After a few days it started to smell like oranges. No rhizomorphic growth at all (sides of tray were clear). After around 10 days still no growth and smell was stronger so I removed it. Any idea if this is contaminated or not? No sign of any mold or bacterial growth either. They looked just like I had broke them out of the jar.
I then took the casing outside and dumped it. If this is contaminated and I bury it using Moe's outdoor tek will it grow and would it be safe??? I know lots of questions but I need some expert advice.

There are some contams like bacteria or yeast that do not produce any change in color but they produce an unpleasant odor, wich is indeed, a sign of contamination. Dumping and burying contaminated cakes with the expectation to produce mushrooms is a shot in the dark, don't expect anything at all from ungerminated cakes, if they produce something you're lucky.

these are not the ones that smell like oranges but they are from the same syringe of spores and the same batch.

Did they get exposed to any chemicals (fertelizers, lysol etc)? I have seen lysol make some messed up shrooms.
