Hello all of you wonderful shroomery beings. First time posting, thought I’d start with a good ole DMT trip of mine. I don’t know if there is a rule as far the time allowed between a trip and writing a trip report. I had a breakthrough DMT trip a few years back, but it is definitely the most vivid experience I have had to date and one which I will never forget. So I thought I’d share with people who might appreciate this.
So it starts with a myspace conversation with a random, but very cool hippie girl. At this point in my life I was in college and just beginning my interest in psychedelics. This girl was all about it, and to make a long story short, her boyfriend turned out to have plenty of DMT to share. I had read Breaking Open the Head by Daniel Pinchbeck by this point and had some familiarity with the drug from his writing on it. Also did my research on Erowid. So we pretty much scheduled a night for me to go over and smoke some with them. By the way, the bit of reading I did hardly prepared me for what was to come.
I got in my car and drove to their house some 50 miles away. I got there and was kindly welcomed into their apartment. They were real nice people and didn’t catch any weird vibes, much less bad intentions. They even offered me some veggie tacos =) As we were all talking, the girls partner, lets call him Z, packed me a fatty bowl of some stuff that he explained would make my DMT trip last longer than the usual 10 or so minutes. Turned out it was some Syrian rue. It was a lot and couldn’t finish it. After a few minutes of puffing on that I told him I was ready.
Z brought out a mindfold. He explained this was the way to go on a DMT trip. I trusted him so I placed it on, but not completely. Next Z brought out a colorful trippy looking glass pipe, yes the kind you would smoke speed from. He showed me the spice. It had a very dark color, like a red-orange or amber-like color. Im sorta color-blind so that part is hard to remember. Anyways, he packed it in, torched it for me and told me to inhale rapidly, “Don’t think about the taste.” Z held the pipe during the whole time.
My first hit wasn’t that big, but it was enough to really take in that harsh taste, sorta like burning plastic. Z promptly brought the pipe back up and I took a second hit which was nice and big. It was much easier the second time around because I knew what was coming. Z made sure to push me for that third hit so I inhaled as much as I could. At this point it was hard to take a deep breath. The smoke is hot and heavy, so my last hit was more like a ‘puff puff.’ It all happened really fast and was very thankful Z was doing the lighting. I pretty much lost all mechanical/verbal skills by the time I was finished with the third hit.
So off I was. I leaned back into the comfy couch and Z slid the mind-fold on. Whoa im getting chills just reminiscing on it. Anyways, I began feeling pressure rising from my feet up, like being submerged in water, but stronger. The pressure reached my chest and slowly crept up until I couldn’t feel my entire body, not even a heart beat. I couldn’t help the thought that “I could be dying right now for all I know.” But I remained calm and focused on a whirling high pitched sound that was simultaneously growing louder. It seemed to be coming from behind me.
All of a sudden, within the first minute or so, the darkness in front me opens up from the center with a vibrant mosaic of blue, yellow, and red fractals- all connected and flowing into each other. I lost focus on the sound and the fact that I couldn’t sense my body. I was in awe of this world. It was a perceptual overload that came on in a blink of an eye. Molecular flows of energy dancing in a very precise geometric space. And even tho I didn’t feel my body, it felt as though I could still turn my head side to side, and all there was, was a pulsating kaleidoscope surface swirling around. ‘I’ (whatever that means) was just there floating in all of it. Everything was so abstract, but at the same time in perfect order. Like, this isn’t here just by accident. Its some kind of functioning dimension, not just chaos.
Ok so the wild stuff… A human-like figure emerges from the colorful mosaic. I don’t remember feeling anything threatening about it. It detaches from the background and becomes its own colorful entity, adding a 3-dimensional sense to the experience. It floated there with me, in its human shape but plain without male or female sex organ. And holy shit, it began communicating with me, telepathically style. As the being first came out, it gave me an overwhelming sense of comfort and familiarity, like this whole thing wasn’t the first time. It’s hard to recall any ‘direct message’ but it was more like this being wanted to make sure I was ok and not bad tripping… “You’ve been here before” type of feeling…trying to explain to me that this was home. The being started leaning towards me, reaching out to me with its left arm fully extended. Its arm got close to what would have been my shoulder and communicated that we would meet again, not to worry and go on to do what I need to do. Again that gave me an overwhelming feeling of comfort, like I was already looking forward to returning, which I am =)
That was about it. This universal being, as I called it, never quite reached me and began to lose its color slowly, frozen in its slanted pose. Eventually everything turned white before returning to dark. My first words back were “What the f*** was that?!” with a huge smile on my face of course. Kinda laughed it off, but still very BLOWN away by what had just happened in my dome piece. There were some pretty cool visuals floating around for a few minutes after the trip… bright geometric stuff, but I was immediately talking to Z about the whole thing.
Turns out the trip only lasted about 10 minutes. I suppose I gave up on the Syrian rue to soon or didn’t get the full third hit. Overall it was a tremendously positive experience, truly like having your rain launched into hyperspace. Prior to my Direct Mystical Transmission I had only ventured so far as to eat mushrooms once or twice. This happened very early in my “psychedelic career” heheh I’m just thankful for those who opened up their home to me and my sanity. I was damn lucky about the whole thing. Hope this was a good read, I just realized how long this turned out. My baaad =)

Nice report, sounds like a pretty classic DMT trip. I commend you for hitting it 3 times your first time. The first few times I smoked I didn't bring myself to hitting again and again correctly. Anyway, welcome to the shroomery. And beware this place is addictive

awesome! so glad I could contribute to your folks' enthusiasm about this molecule. It is definitely important to approach it with a positive and affirmative desire to explore this realm. I remember I came back home with a personal dose of it. The guy wasn't about distributing this irresponsibly, so I was lucky to receive what I did. My intent was to share the experience rather than to keep it to myself. Well unfortunately it ended up going to waste because I shared it with someone who was not at all comfortable with the idea of letting go of himself (I explained how sudden and intense it would be). Anyways, he must've thought I was exaggerating so he took a hit and complained about the harsh taste event tho I warned him. I ended up burning it all away trying to get him to inhale. By the time I realized he wasnt going to go thru with it, it was too late for me to smoke it myself as it was all pretty much done. Really didn't make a difference to me, since 1 DMT launch is more than a lifetimes worth to think about. But I really wish I had been a little more patient with my buddy and not rushed to tell him "yo you gotta check this out."

By the way I'm very curious to know how a breakthrough experience is like without a mind-fold or closing your eyes. I'll do my research around here but if anyone wanted to chime in on that, much appreciated. Like how do people or regular objects look like if at all present? Part of the purpose of the mind-fold, I think, was to avoid those distractions and really focus on traveling 'inner space.' But I'm curious to know how different of a trip I would have had without the mind-fold.

The first time I ever had a high dose I had my eyes open for the start of the peak and only closed em after a minute or 2 of wide eyed staring. I felt a distinct sense of vertigo and shape ditortion. It is really hard to describe the visuals, I knew I was looking at things in my room but they were so altered it was really bizarre. Colors were incredibly different and overlayed objects. Terms like cartoonish and blobish come to mind. But yeah, its so hard to describe.
