ADHD is a constellation of behaviors that are abnormal. When these behaviors hamper a child's learning and academic ability, and the ability of others to succeed they should be treated.
The prevalence is something like 3-5%. So in a class of 30 or so kids, 1 has it.
Didn't EVERYONE have that one asshole kid that fucked it up for the entire class? I'll be damned if someone elses asshole kid fucks up the learning environment for mine. Some kids just need to calm the hell down. Kick them out of school or medicate them. I think the latter is a better alternative.
And stop with the whole "these are hardcore street drugs". I can't believe people on this site subscribe to the entire "drugs are bad mmkay" logic. Dose makes all the difference in this case.

trouble is these rambunctious kids just dont give a fuck.
im so glad my parents never medicated me.
i didnt learn shit in school. teachers would pass me because they liked me. i was always fucking up the lesson for others. getting kicked out of class was fun,
i really dont see ho a stimulant drug would have helped me or any other shithead kids.
stimulant medicins cannot create the desire to learn.
the shitheads are not the ones who need that shit. the kids that try to learn but cant are in need.
i say hold the shitheads back, or convince them to want to learn. dont amp them out.

The shit makes you like.. sit there and do work. I never felt like doing anything social when they put me on anti-psychotic monkey dope. I'm still recovering socially.

And this is a perfect example. If you disrupt the learning process of other kids there should be two options:
1. You get kicked out of school (and hung out to dry). 2. You get medicated enough so you sit down and shut the hell up.
School isn't for everyone, I'm OK with that. But believe it or not, some people value education, and want to succeed and make a difference.
Why let the less motivated people fuck that up?
