Quote: psilonaut2000 said: I think we should clear up this old misunderstanding that vitamin c increases your trip! It's not true At all, in fact when my dad went to amsterdamn and bought some booms they told him that if it gets to Intense for him to drink milk and or take vitamin c cuz it will bring your trip down and mellow things out. So I then began reading and I'm sorry I forgot where, I think it was tim Leary research or something and it said that there were signs that vitamin c actually helps bring down the efects of psilocin!
Just my 2 cents from a well expeirienced tripped from all hallucinogens!!!!
I'm going to have to completely disagree in that I have taken ridiculous amounts of vitamin c and have had incredibly potent trips, more so when not taking vitamin c.
They only way to really come up with an accurate conclusion would be to have pure psilocybin and measure out a dose, monitor the effects and then do the same dose and take vitamin c and monitor effects, then take the same psilocybin dose and twice the vitamin c and monitor effects. I believe tim leary did this at harvard and concluded that vitamin c does interact with psilocybin in that it blocks its effects on the brain and brings down your trip.
Mature mycelium contains some amount of psilocybin, which can be extracted with an acidic solution, usually of citric acid or ascorbic acid (Vitamin C). From wikipedia
This is true because it also takes psilocin out of the blood stream

I agree with team america with out a doubt. also if your worried enough to post questions regarding these issues in hopes of finding some magical answer that you can confide in allowing you to take mushrooms without worry or previous fear.....then you probably shouldnt take them at all! any response that might put your mind at ease about this issue would more than likely be blasted out of your consciousness and be replaced with any original fear you might have had.
Just my 2 cents
