help-blue brusing.
    #9584696 - 01/10/09 04:20 PM (3 years, 4 months ago)

so i came home today after 2 week break and find all 3 glasses have alot of blue brusing on them.  even the 2 glasses that i kept in the fridge to stall growth has brusing. i am doing the pf tek BRF

the glass that i didnt keep in the fridge was like 30% done when i left and i come home it is 100% and it has most of the bruising. it is a really dark blue bruise in one spot which i am hoping is not a contam. i kept the 2 glasses in the fridge because it was like 95% colonized when i left so i just wanted to stall it until i got back. i just took them out of the fridge to re start the colonization.

i was wondering if that matters that i have alot of blue brusing which i dont think it does. im planning on fruiting tomorow.

and what causes bruising? i havent touched it or anything. even the ones i kept in the fridge started to bruse which is weird.

thank you

bruising is caused by stress
either by being too dry,too wet,too much handling ect...
take them out of the jars when they are ready
soak(12-24 hours)then roll in dry verm

most likely they got dry, you probably didn't add enough water at the start.

Evolution is Lamarckism in disguise.  Adaptation never creates a new species or trait, but rather the new species/trait always existed within the parent DNA until circumstances allowed it to be activated.  For instance, every wolf has the DNA for poodles, but that DNA would never be revealed without man selectively breeding for it.

2 verm : 1 brf : 1 water is standard

If you used drinking glasses, they probably just dried out.  You can replace the moisture by dunking 24 hours.
