Former courthouse janitor sentenced in case where marijuana was found in his car, in front of courthouse
link
A McLennan County Courthouse janitor who forgot to clean out his car before going to work in February was placed on felony probation Wednesday for having a trunk full of marijuana.
Retired State District Judge Derwood Johnson ordered Donald Ray Montgomery, 39, jailed for 90 days as a term and condition of his four-year probation term.
Montgomery declined comment Wednesday before he was taken to jail.
He pleaded guilty Oct. 30 to possession of more than 4 ounces but less than 5 pounds of marijuana, a state-jail felony, after a deputy patrolling the courthouse parking lot saw a 1976 Chevrolet Monte Carlo with its trunk open.
The officer uncovered about 3 pounds of marijuana and electronic scales in the back of Montgomery’s car.
Montgomery told investigators that he put a new trunk lock on his car that apparently was subject to coming open in heavy wind gusts. He also acknowledged that the drugs were his, officials said.
“I have never seen someone this unlucky,” sheriff’s investigator Shawn Lippe said at the time of Montgomery’s arrest.
Montgomery worked for the county from July 1998 until his arrest.

that really sucks!
but why did he have that much tree in his trunk anyhow?

sounds like he didn't trust where he was living, so he used his trunk as a sort of "stash bank"
did we learn anything people?
I hope so..
