Yeah,in my part of Florida, the average winter day temps are 60,to hi 70's,and average night temps are 40's,to 60's,and we have only had a few times when there was a frost. You live down further than me Amber,so your temps are a few degrees warmer. But anyway, none of my plants have slowed down either, and have been out the whole winter.Gotta love living in the south, especially if you love plants That's pretty much the only thing that will keep me from ever living back up north.I'd go crazy if I couldn't grow plants all year round outdoors, and I hate snow, and cold weather

Here my cacti come close to zero Celsius in the winter (never below) but they still grow a bit during winter. I guess they don´t really get fully dormant, at least in my latitude/altitude.

I'm in south Texas, and so far my cacti are still quite active. The Pachanois seem to be putting out an inch every two weeks.

cpw1971 said: nope I disagree I think they spend some time in dormancy regardless of temps. a lot of mine went dormant in the spring and summer after being under a 1000w hps all winter. and after fucking up their schedule they didn't grow as much as they should have.
It would be interesting to find out one way or the other. I live in the West Coast/N California area. The temps stay at around mid 40's to early 50's all winter. I have all my Lophs inside at windows along with some columnar Loph Grafts under flouros on a heating pad and It seems to be growing just as if it was summer.
Now my Columnar specimens like Pedro's and Peruvianus along with the other Various lophs and tricho seedlings are all left at sunny windows and watered lightly every couple weeks or so. They seem to show no signs of dormancy what so ever. They are growing quite vigorously. I still have to cut little pups sprouting from the sides of my Columnar grafts. I thought for sure they would of long went into dormancy by this time of year.
I just started growing my Cacti garden less than 1 1/2 years ago. I noticed for some reason I also got a dormant period last spring. It wasn't till the end of summer that they really started to stake off. So maybe your right @cpw1971. I'll be sure to take notes when next spring approaches.
