You can start talking here in the meantime. Lots of people with great thoughts, and love.
But also, college campuses typically offer VERY CHEAP therapy. My school charges 5 for an hour. That's a steal.
Also, college campuses have counselors in the academic office that are usually free. You don't even have to be a student if you don't offer that little tidbit.
Lastly, most community mental health agencies operate on a sliding scale, so if you don't make much, you don't have to pay much.
I mean, free is hard to come by. A lot of us spent a lot of hours studying and a lot of money for tuition - we at least need a small token to keep this circus running down the road.
What's on your mind, friend?

I also forgot, most churches will offer free counseling. You need to call and make an appt. Of course, you see the inherent bias here - but I love Jesus - so fuck if I care.

Jebus loves you too.
depending on your location yes there should be free resources in your community, Aroundtheson listed a lot of good ones; might want to check some local clinics and see if they can offer any info. going to a campus would be one of my first moves. however if you live in say, scranton, Pa or something, online might be your best option.
you can always pm me its its something you want to keep personal; on my way to becoming a psychologist . but theres a lot of good people in the psy/mental wellbeing forums who can help you get some insight, etc...

whats going on with you at home?
do you live alone, go to school, have a job, etc? Do you have any goals in life at this point? Also, do you do any drugs? Whats up with your friends too, when you hung out with them before was it a lot? What has changed that you feel has separated you from them?
Do you feel like you are normally good socially, or have been in the past, but something has happened to stifle this progression or what would you say?
btw from what you've described it sounds like you could be very responsive to some counseling. I think its important to try and identify some cause that is keeping you from feeling happy. Perhaps you need to change your routine behaviors to things that are more rewarding, but I need to know a little more

well it seems that you are really wound up in your own emotions and thoghts and to an extent, even a little bit confused. that is natural in these situations. if you do decide to go see a professional, i would say, just don't worry about talking about the right things, just talk.
there is an exercise called free writing, where you just start writing and under no circumstances stop. start writing about whatever, or how you feel, or what you are thinking, and usually it gets through your defense mechanisms and gets down to your true feelings, and what is bothering you.
give it a shot, it always worked for me.

This might seem like the last thing you want to do....but at least until you get it figured out you should try and become OK with being alone instead of feeling alienated.

What do you do everyday?
Do you have any hobbies?
Perhaps you are spending too much time indoors and on the computer. That usually has a negative effect on peoples social stance...
