Hunting season is in, and I usually take different people who haven't been before, or people who don't get to go much...But man I know I'll get to see it at least once this year, and I can't wait.

Crossbow. I guess I could see how you could not be expecting it, but it's still funny.

With a .50 cal black powder max grain I tapped my eyebrow with the scope.
Just a hair too close.
Luckily no blood lost.

Since there seem to be some people who know about guns...I have a problem.
I let a friend use my friends gun, and they got it out of the car in the middle of the woods...And then left it, and I just now got it back...It has been out in the rain and shit for a couple of weeks now. Almost 3.
I haven't seen it yet, but my friend got it when he went back down to our hunting camp and he said it was fucked up. He took it apart and did some work he said it looks better, but its still kinda bad. It was already rusted before, but I want to get it back better than it was when I got it. I feel bad, but I don't know what to do. I was gonna paint it for him...Is that a good idea?? He said he wouldn't mind, but that was before this happened...I want to shoot my dumbass friend that left it out. He'll never borrow a gun again.

i dont ever let friends take my guns out of sight. for this very reason. few will treat your gun as well as you would.
i think the best you could do at this point is to disassemble it down to individual parts, buy your self some pre-blueing treatment and some blueing liquid, scrub the hell out of every part of metal with rough and then fine steel wool, then proceed to treat it with the anti rust/pre-blue liquid and follow the directions for the blueing liquid, then after its safe to work with again, oil it very well, scrub the inside of the barrel with a metal brush attachment and oil that well too.
what kind of gun is it?

I mean the thing is...It's a piece of shit. It was already messed up pretty bad before this happened. It's some shit pump shotgun. It probably wouldn't be worth 200 dollars if it was in perfect condition.
I just hope I can get it back to looking good. I'm just glad it was that gun and not one of mine. All of my guns are very expensive, and I would probably kill that jackass if they left it out there.
He was about to pawn it/trade it at a gun show...I doubt he would have been able to due to the look of it anyway. I might just go find out how much it would have been worth, and give him the money for it...Keep the gun myself and maybe paint it.

well the easiest way to clean up a rusty gun is steel wool. id do it for you if you lived close enough.
