Official '09 Woodlovers Cultivation Thread
#9315927 - 11/26/08 08:54 AM (3 years, 5 months ago) |
|
|
This thread is open to all that wish to contribute to the community of growing. I have invited and am openly offering anyone interested to contribute their grows Teks and the like. Who knows maybe we will crack this tricky species into growing indoors better. And this thread is for the grow information of woodlovers ONLY, just want to keep on topic. Hopefully we can make this thread into the archives as an accomplishment from the community to the community.
My beginning for this year;
Standard PF jar to begin the process, I find this the safest way and I ordered a spore syringe from one of our vendors...well actually 4!!!

One and a half months along and ready for some wood.

Alder smoke chips and Ash sawdust mix, pc'd @ 15 for 90min, cakes cut up into cubes, dropped in, and shook around to get them into the wood.

will update as they progress......

i used simple brf for spawn pf tek style and transfered to hardwood mulch outside last feb .. dont know why but havent gotten a single fruit out of a nice mass of mycelia about 4 feet in radius .. i do like the aggressiveness of azures though , they take a bit to get started but when they do go beserk .. they also fought off an invitro contam to make it to spawning in a couple jars .. good luck with ur endeavor ! i will follow this thread closely

The best part was that it took only 3 half pint jars to inoculate 13 quart jars of wood substrate. one syrine did nine half pint jars. 3 syringes to go
My next set I added sawdust to the PF jars just to see what happens.

The next set of azures, these are going to be spawned to birch dowel pegs.

The one on the left is after shaking to distribute cake crumbs. The one on the right is ready to be shaken.

The next two are of azure mycelium growth since last seen.

looks like you are getting the most bang for your cake buck! when spawning to the quart jars, what do you do to prevent contams? glovebox?

`Well i really just wash hands with anti-bacterial soap, and wipedown surfaces with alcohol. Other than that, just crumble and put into the jars out in the open, no glove box or flowhood. I read on here that a fully colonized cake is pretty resistant to contams, and most contams we see with grain and other cube substrates really do not apply here because it is wood that is being used, which is more selective.

They will go into filter bags with unsterilized wood chips and sawdust and some into mini monotubs and placed inside a walkin-meat cooler to try to induce them to fruit. fingers crossed. The rest will be planted outdoors in a woods.

so rad. I love azures... I go the beach in florence, coos bay, astoria, ect.. and always used to pick "my" cubensis in dune grass.... low and behold i was acually picking, presumebly,p. azures or p. cyan.. so cool i never picked off of dung...
anyways i'll be doing a large outdoor crop next year. So I like this.... good luck with the dowels. i think that it should work, or atleast be interesting...cheers

Official 2009 azurescens cultivation thread [Re: mister]

Alright here we are, the official 2009 azurescens cultivation thread.
Lets keep it on topic
Point being, we don't want this thread to turn into the strain discussion thread...confusing, 45 pages long and too much to read.
We'd like to make this easy for a person to read and get questions answers concerning azurescens stuff only.
Thanks everyone.

Azures '09 participant from the other side of the big pond, here. Right now it's still below -15° Celsius, so I got a while to go before I can start getting funky outdoors, but I'll start spawn preparation as soon as I get the parafim I ordered for my petris.
