I had one when I was 16-17. I had overdosed on oc's, 8 ambien and 7 lorazapam (not intentional, my family has a high tolerance to opiates/benzos) and I had passed out for a few hours. I woke up barely breathing, foaming at the mouth and had turned a little blue when I had met my grandfather who had died when I was 2. I had seen him only once before when I called upon him to comfort me. He had told me I was going to die if I kept using opiates and I would not quit until I had become a medicine man (shaman), which I am half cherokee. Now mind you that I had abandoned all things spiritual since I was 7. I am now fully practicing and have reached a happiness in my life I never had before. During the NDE I had seen my grandfather in my house in an array of dim colors in a smoke form. No bright light, no asscending to heaven/hell. I have talked to him a few times since but it had saved my life, even though it was terrifying.

I have posted this link numerous time around this site in the past but to anyone who hasn't seen it and is interested in this subject, I highly recommend you bookmark it and check it out in your spare time.  It is a collection of exceptional NDEs submitted to this particular website.  Some are more interesting than others, just use your discretion as you go through them.  You will definitely come across some truly fascinating and inspirational glimpses into the afterlife though.  It will also confirm what many spiritual teachers have said; that every after death experience is completely unique and is strongly affected by your own personal beliefs.

Well i have died before, and was reborn.  I would call that a death experience.  And that was more profound than any existing language can comprehend.

I had a near death experience where I thought an alien had taken over my mind. My mind was being used by aliens to destroy the known universe.  but before this, I saw my entire life unfold and experienced my own death. The entire experience was foggy but I still remember almost all of it.

I had one non drug related. Me and my friend where on a 8 hour trip to Ohio. My friends dad was driving goin 65 mph and i was lying the passenger set back sleeping. Some moron tries to pass from behind into the turning lane. he hit us going 75 MPH,our car spun and hit another car.BTW,where he hit our car....it was 2 inches from my head! The paramedics that came to the scene told me if that person where going 5 MPH more, then the metal from the car would have went in my head (aka: the car dented inwards)!!

Care to elaborate a little on the NDE experience itself?  What did you see?
