Contam on uncased hpoo/straw? Pics

Hello everyone
Just wanted to get some opinions on whether you think this is a contam on my bulk sub. Ive gotten it in 3 different tubs now after theyve all had minimum 2 or 3 flushes, so Im pretty sure thats what it is. If anyone happens to know what this contam is and what the conditions are that promote its growth, then that would help me to avoid it in the future. Thanks

I highlighted the most obvious parts.. sorry my cameras not so good so the picture isnt as clear as Id like. The growth looks similar to hyphal knots almost, but theyre a lot smaller and more closely packed together. I threw out the first one that acquired the growth because it started to get fuzzy looking in the places it had been the longest. Didnt get any pics there.
At least in 2 out of 3 of the tubs that have been affected by this, I feel as if they succumbed prematurely to the contamination. Each tub contained roughly 12qt of substrate, but I only got 2 okay flushes on one tub and the other tub i got 2 brutal flushes. The second tub (which is pictured - the one darkened less by the spores) basically side pinned the whole time and produced maybe 1/2oz dry total over 2 flushes. I could feel how heavy it still was with moisture (not over capacity but not dehydrated either) - it never even got to the point of needing to be dunked.
Anyway, Im concerned that it would contam so early. If anyone has any suggestions as to what kind of contam this is and how it would be best to avoid it, that would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Try opening/cutting that area out and see what the profile of the substrate looks like, it may have a lot more down there and that's why relatively poor flush compared to your other tub.
Looking at the pics i can not tell you what the contam? is, sorry.

That first picture is horrifying. You're seriously eating something that's growing off of that? Good luck man, that's my only input.

So, nobody except me thought that it might be a coat of spores on the first pic?

For sure their are spores in deposit on it but, its had better days, plus the metabolites on the surface are right in the nasty area

You must have a better eye then me, no wonder I always bitch about picture quality
But honestly, I do not see anything wrong there... Does it smell strange?

You seriously took the words out of my mouth! Bulk grows like the one pictured above lend themselves to some pretty various color swatches to say the least. LOL! The camera obviously has the potential for great pictures! You might want to enable the Macro function. You're not far away from a perfect picture.

The dark shit is just spore deposits on the mycelium. It's hard to see, but i tried to highlight the spots where I was concerned about contamination in red (the red doesn't show up too well because the pic is rather high resolution and i added the red in MS Paint). Anyway, I'm 95% sure those were contams.
The first and last pictures were of my monotub which lasted a good 4 or 5 flushes (albeit not great ones) before succumbing to this contam, so I'm not too worried or surprised about that.
Pics 2 and 3 show the tub that did the worst, only 2 brutal flushes. I threw it out yesterday because i was very confident that it was contammed, and I found that the sub didn't colonize the whole way through. I think it may have been a bit over field capacity. Anyway, this might explain my low yields from that tub.
The other tub that had contamed is not pictured, but it showed contam earliest and I threw it out first. It was prepared in the same manner as the one from pics 2 & 3 above, but was spawned about a week sooner. It colonized completely through, and I got a better yield from it (although again not great).
Anyway, I guess I wont know what this contam is. I have a few theories about how it got started. Temps had been swinging all over the place in my grow area due to changing weather around here, often getting way too hot up there (85-90F). Those issues have been resolved now. Also, I believe the tub that contammed first and the tub from pics 2 & 3 were not getting enough FAE, so I cut some holes and polyfilled them. Too much moisture/incomplete colonization of the tub from pics 2 & 3 would also be big contributors to contams. So I will try to have all these things fixed for the next time 'round.
If anyone has any further suggestions or comments, please contribute. Thanks!
