Those Devo videos brought back some memories there! I started listening to Devo in about 1980. My parents thought it was fucking wierd, but they could tolerate it more then The Sex Pistols so they didn't tell me to turn it down for fear I'd just go to something they hated worse. 
I also discovered Kraftwerk around that time and they really didn't know what to make of that!

I was born in '86 but I fucking love Devo.
I'll admit the '80s had their really, really ugly moments, but they had some great ones too.

Bad eighties music is just terrible. Good eighties music is awesome in that incredible cheesy way.
Guns N' Roses is a quality band. And what about Europe's The Final Countdown?

I too, fan of 80's.
Born in 83 with a sister 10 years older, I grew up listening to the synth's and general crazy-ness.
Probably one of the reason's I love techno and the like so much now-aday's.

there were soo many good bands in the 80s. not being sarcastic at all either...
the minutemen, dinosaur jr, meat puppets, butthole surfers, big black, sonic youth, the melvins, my bloody valentine... etc.
all of the popular bands in the nineties that most people praise like soundgarden, pearl jam, nirvana, weezer, smashing pumpkins were all extremely influenced by the bands mentioned above.. and that's putting it kindly. cuz they took these innovative musicians wild sound and made it poppy and accessible and none of the originators got any recognition at all really.
it's a shame... mention the meat puppets and people will laugh at the name and go, "wha? huh? who?"
...little do they know that bands like nirvana would have lined up to suck the semen from the meat puppet's genitals just to get a taste of what it feels like to have some magical creative juices flowing through their bodies.

most people don't even realize it's a cover. so i'll give ya props there... "oh, me" and "plateau" are also the meat puppet's songs.
also most people don't realize that nirvana had curt and cris kirkwood of the meat puppets come on stage and play guitar and bass during those three songs because they couldn't play 'em themselves.
