Opiate addiction
    #9002366 - 09/29/08 11:02 AM (3 years, 7 months ago)

Well, after years of dabbling in opiates, and the past year has been an almost everyday binge from everything to tramadol, to heroin, to methadone, to oxycontins. I need to seriously quite opiates. Today was my first day without opiates, im going from hot to cold, theirs sweat pouring down my face, i just shat out liquid poo, I couldnt sleep last night. Im about to go cash in some scrap metal for a dose of methadone, anything to keep this WD off my case but im going to have to bite the bullet...

any advice for quitting opiates?

Rice eaters with nothing but gym shoes, and a rifle, and a bowl of rice took him and his tanks and his napalm, and all that other action he's supposed to have and ran him across the Yalu. Why? 'Cause the day that he can win on the ground has passed.

Seek professional help, or slowly reduce dose over time to nothing.  Cold turkery will give you those WD, and to be honest sometimes i felt like i would rather be dead, than to have to through that shit again.  Cant sleep, cant eat just lying on the couch feeling like death.

Yeah been there man, i went through oxy withdrawl.  If this is your first day its going to get worse the 2nd day or 3rd day are the worst imo.  Good luck, try and get some methadone to ease the pain but dont use it to get high, split up the dose so you have some later in the week.  After i went through WD i said fuck it, im not doing this shit again.  I still do oxy occasionally but not like i used to.  It used to be pretty bad, at one point i was spending like 80 bucks a day.

WD's suck no matter what but you can get through it if you want.  But you have to grab your balls and run into the fire.  Cold Turkey? dunno but def get professional help if it's available.  Good Luck!

That sounds like a smart idea, methadone is pretty cheap and you can space it out for awhile, its about goddamn time i clean my act up.

Man I sorta know what you are going through. I've been experimenting with the H bomb recently and ended up with a mild sized monkey on my back. Needless to say a break is in order. I went on a 4 day break last week because I could not get any and I had some mild sickness so that right there was a reality check. Stick with it though.

my bf used to be hard core into oxy, like he would be snorting 80mg pills at one time multiple times a day
it was bad, he shit blood for months and still has bad stomach problems,
he passed out in the bathtub and had to go to the hospital, it was scary
even now, he can take like 12 vicodins and not feel a thing
i would say, ease off that stuff, if you abuse it you could be screwed for life,
i know some people who take suboxone for heroine addiction, i don't know how well it helps,
but i think it is similar to methadone

but yes, i think professional help would be a good thing n this case
