 Rye spawned to coir in pans, Shotgun Tub or Monotub style?

Hey guys i try not to post here to much, my friend has gone from knowing nothing to having 30 jars knocked up (in less then two months) with 3 different strains.. fully colonized  . Anyways here we go.
My friend is going to spawn today to pans filled with pasteurized coir, he's not sure if he should use aluminum pans or small plastic tubs, he may try both. He is confused about which kind of tub he should fruit in. He would prefer to use a monotub style tub, about 8 large holes filled with poly, would this work? If not would a shotgun style tub work? Also their is some confusion over whether or not to use perlite to keep a high humidity level.
Will a monotub style tub with pans in it even work with perlite, or would it be to much? If i don't need perlite how many holes should I put in my tub and should I put some in the bottom of the tub?

I appreciate the link, I think ive read everything their 5 times over, their is no mention of monotubs, also the newest addition was in 09/07, im not saying old information is bad information, just looking for some fresh advice.

Here is a link to a monotub LINK which is the same thing as a double tub just the double tub is two smaller tubs taped together to make one tub.. It's basically for smaller areas..

I have two small monotubs going .... bulk substrate (wall to wall in the bottom of the tub), one is cased with peat/verm the other is uncased.
I also have a bunch of spawn finishing up and I am looking forward to doing bulk substrate in trays in two shotgun style FCs.
The shotgun style FCs are better suited to my personality .... I like to peek and mist and fan and goof around with it. It is difficult for me to 'set and forget'.
With 30 jars of spawn you should be able to try both a monotub and your bulk trays in a shotgun.
