This article gives me the heebie jeebies. This is what happens when you put a bunch of racist redneck bastards at the opposite side of a border from a bunch of muslim allies. Let's just thank god that the damage in relations with our allies is only mediocre, and that we're not lobbing nukes at each other.

I don't think that's true. I took a quick glance at this article and don't see anything to substantiate that claim.

Also I remember hearing a bunch of state department people around Nov-Jan complaining about the stability of their nuclear arsenals control (due to the whole assassination mess).

So we should respect a border that the fighters attacking our troops do not? When Pakistan begins to take out the fighters that are using their border for protection, then I will agree that the US should respect said border. Until then, anybody along the border that is fires a weapon is fair game. I'm surprised the US has not returned fire.

They were warning flares fired when our helicopters crossed the border. I assure you any country would have done the same.
We are allies, and we have sent troops over their border illegally before (sep 3 for sure). So let's start with those assumptions.
What other rational do you suppose the Pakistanis would have for taking the actions they did? A rogue soldier? They sure didn't have the appropriate weapons to actually take down the helicopter if that was the case. A mistake? Maybe, probably not. The most likely story is Pakistan's side in my opinion. It's the one that makes any real sense.

it's funny but the US doesnt shoot planes down that illegally
