So i had this one jar...and it had what appeard to me an extremly small maggot slithering his way through the less than half colonized jar...it was only a small sliver not much thicker than a thumbnail...wtf Ive never encountered this...shortly before the project someone came and sprayed for fleas...is it possible is flea larvae...do fleas even make larvae...either way...this is very disappointing and puzzling...and fills me with fear for futer endevors...how the hell did this happen....I pressuer CANNED...I figured chances of contam would be relativly slim...and to make matters worse theres 12 other uncolonized jarz that appear to have red shit growing everywhere...the lid on my incubation chamber remains closed and the closet that its in gets lysoled about two times a day...the walls were also poorly scrubbed with bleach before putting them in there...But you shoulda seen the first time i did this when i was a teenager living in my parents house with a FUCIN MESSY nasty bedroom and had EXCELLENT Success...

If your jars have red growth it sounds like you have contaminants, as you know mycelium should be white and slowly colonize the jar. If you can post pictures of the jars i would as well.
