 Senior Citizens and Mescaline

So anyways this fellow in his early to mid 70s that I know through work learned that I grow cactus. He has expressed interest in trying some mescaline. He is the artistic type, mescaline would be good for that I suppose. Overall he has a relatively conservative drug history. He has smoked pot a few times and a few other drugs a few times. I don't think he has any experience with any psychedelics.
So what kind of precautions would be appropriate? What type of dose would be appropriate? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

do you know how potent your cacti is? a good dose of mescaline for a first timer would be around 200mg of pure mescaline which is probably around 8 oz of fresh cacti. its hard to tell unless you know how potent your cacti is. imo mescaline is a good psychedelic to start on, it puts you in a great mindset almost like MDMA and is really relaxed, slow flowing and beautiful.
take the same precautions you would with any psychedelic. good comfortable secluded environment, a close sober friend as a trip sitter and just take it from there. wait till he is tripping before venturing into new environments and stuff just start off in a quiet place and decide what to do from there. if he is artistic tell him to bring paper and drawing utensils cause drawing on psychedelics is amazing.

I was specifically wondering if there is anybody special precautions to take with an elderly adult with limited drug experience. As for dose I will sample the same cactus I will give him so that I will have some idea of dose. I don't know if he would want me around while tripping though it would be a good idea, most people he would probably hang around with probably wouldn't be to experienced with cactus. He told me he wants a light dose. However we all know that often on Psychedelics often light doses are the most uncomfortable. I would like to give him something that he could defiantly break through on but not enough to go to crazy on.
Does anybody know any resources on the web that have trip reports from elderly adults? I think that would help me out a lot.

I've tripped on mushrooms, mescaline, and LSD with a homeless guy who lived in the woods. He was at least 70 and didn't have any health problems to note aside from the occasional coughing (he was a smoker). He never had heart rate issues or anything.
His approach to tripping was very interesting. He was very analytical about his experience, and genuinely seemed to learn something after each trip. I think since he is a first timer you should stay with him to keep him company and calm.

i reckon he will have a beautiful experience and there wouldnt be any need for extra precautions, compared to if you were dosing a 20yo. probably less precautions due to a more aged and wiser mind.
if he doesnt want to trip around you maybe give him your phone number and ensure him you are cool with him calling you up cause if things go rotten an experienced tripper is always good to talk too.
heres a trip report from aldous huxley when he took mescaline he was fairly old and he had a brilliant experience.

i dont think youll find any need for extra precautions because imo there are none, just treat it like you would a young friend taking the voyage
any big names like tim leary or terence mckenna is probably the only 'aged' men trip reports youll find. i think you will find alot of trip reports of scientists from the 60s like that one from albert hoffman. albert hoffman dosed acid annually up until he died at age 102.
i still think around 200mg would be a decent dose or maybe even 150mg because it is past that 'light' sort of threshhold dose, but still nice and comfortable.

Ask him about any information he has on his and his family's previous mental health history. I.E. has he or anyone in his family that he knows of had any mental health issues? Was his mother/father "schizophrenic"? If he says that everything is fine then I would not be concerned about much. In fact, IMO it would be best to not even inform him of the possibility of having a bad trip.

its funny this one time i went to church and i ate cactus tar the night before right before i went to sleep so i woke up tripping balls. My sunday school teacher was extra emotional had super dilated eyes and my grandma said that there was writing all over my mothers car with a signature and flowers on her plain purple pants she saw all these crazy designs. it was a long strange trip
