Humidity too high? PICS
    #8907063 - 09/10/08 01:24 PM (2 months, 23 days ago)

I set up a new chamber and I am still tuning the humidity setup and I thought I had it but the fruits have these dark streaks on the caps and I was thinking it was due to having the humidity too high. Is this the case or is this normal. I usually don't have fruits that look like this but I also was using a different setup before.
Sorry for the crappy photos, I hope you can tell what I am talking about from these. Any help would be appreciated.

It can be the humidity! Generally those dark stripes appear when the water content in the air is so high that the mushrooms seem to start rotting.

Thanks Fabio. That is kind of what I was thinking.

Nothing!

Be sure it's simply the humidity and then let us know.

I fruit oysters in 100% humidity.  Cooler temps will help with your problem.  I suspect your grow area is too warm.

The temp was at 71F. I am trying to figure a way to build a "cool chamber" for pioppino and shiitake so I will try them in there and see how it goes. Thanks

If you can lower it by even 5F, your performance will be better.  Oysters get really nice and meaty if you'll fruit in the mid 50's.

Thanks RR. I have some outside and it has been in the 50s and 60s the last few weeks and they are looking better.
