reusing sawdust?

how about old sawdust blocks, crumbled and re-sterilized?
the old micelium could act as a nutrient for the new one?
eg use old ganoderma blocks as oysters or shiitake substrate, new fruits get -at least in part- the nutritional content of ganoderma?

Do you need to add any supplement ? and could you use it after oyster for say another species?
