If a mushroom trip induces a schizophrenic episode in someone, are you then saying that it is not at all possible that they may have latent schizophrenia? Are you saying my advice to him to enquire if he has family history is bad advice? I never said that he definately absolutely had schizophrenia, all i said was that given the situation he described it was a possibility and it would be a good idea to check out his history especially if he's planning on taking psychedelics again. psychedelics aren't toys. you're risking mental health everytime you take one if you have history. To all the fine shroomerites who are now going to jump on me and tell me "shrooms are from the earth man, they're natural, how can be so bad?" or i'm full of shit, a "bad jinx" or a puppet of prohibition, take the blinkers off. you can delude yourself as much as you like that there are no negative consequences to taking drugs but that won't make them go away.

I'm not saying that's bad advice, but when someone is told that their bad trip could very well have be due to a latent psychological disorder, that could have a very negative effect.
I havn't had an experience like CrazedDarkStar but I have definatley been in a compromising situation while on mushrooms which led a full on psychotic state in which I lost all control. Lack of experience, lack of a close relationship with buddies, and lack of thorough planning could easily lead to one feeling isolated and worried.
If your on psychedelics, that is exactly the type of situation which will lead to a delusional trip. Psychedelics will project your weaknesses and fears before you even know you have them. That's how you learn.
When he said: "fuck it, im just gonna be, fuck everything. I dont need my life" He had an awakening, he was no longer grasping for sanity and before he knew it, he was in bliss.
If your going to do psychedelics, you must be fully prepared to let go of everything. If your struggling to maintain a coherent state of mind, or trying contemplate wether or not someone is thinking this or that, your setting yourself up for trouble.
This is simply a case of bad planning.

a negative effect like him getting information about whether he is at risk or not? especially when planning to take psychedelics again?
It's not my intention to freak the kid out, i apologise if my words did, I'm only trying to warn him of an aspect of psychedelics he, and others, might not have considered. someone has to say the things no one wants to hear. bad planning or a bad trip or something more serious, we weren't there so my take as an outside observer, like yourself, is no more or less valid than yours.

hehe if ur at peace with ur fate and realise this is the order of things... everything seems predestined, and even death can loose its fearfulness. if u take a good spititual stance to this, it may indeed seem like a blessing or a metamorphosis! passive observance is the key.. feel the tingeling in the cheekbones..taste the saliva diffrently.. feel a diffrent face on u see the blind blur blocking out all vision... i dont believe in bad trips i believe only in bad perspectives.
btw those were some cool ass cops!
also if u were to the point of punchin ur friend in the head then they prolly were fuckin with u, just 4 bein such a lamer.
although im not really knockin u for it just pointin out their possible take on it, as i just socked a friend in the head a couple weeks ago 4 eyeballin me. but i wasnt freakin out like u! he was disrespectin me...i felt, lol! mehh, such is life. if ur real friends appologize let him know u were in a bad place and if, like i say ur real friends, he will 4give u..if not bet he will go outa his way to not fuck with u next time.

well first of all, i think maybe next time you should try them, you shoudl be with people that you like and admire, or very close friends. After that, find a sweet place to chill for the night and maybe watch some visuals, i always go to my friends house and we sit on his porch on the second floor and watch the view while we are tripping, best times of my life. Just be with people you like and that are good friends and then be in a place that makes you feel at home

Death is not always a bad thing. Bad trips are not always a bad thing. When taking a substance like mushrooms you can not expect it to always go great smooth happy. For every wonderful feeling you have a equal low will come. Life is not easy happy and lovey all the time nor is anything. Good luck. Beware the voices in yer head.

You most certainly can experience a bad trip due to someone else's behavior. Take me for example. I tried mushrooms for the very first time a few weeks ago with my best friend, Robby. We both got an eighth and decided we'd do them at my other friend, Nick's house. Now, Nick got a girl named, Ciera, pregnant at the age of 17, and was a fulltime father by the age of 18. They are both too young and immature for a family right now, and they argue 24/7. It's extremely annoying sober, let alone when we're trippin' balls. We both went into this experience fully knowing what situations may lie ahead with their constant bickering. We took the shrooms at about 7:00PM, they only took about fifteen minutes to kick in. Nick and Ciera started arguing during the PEAK of my shroom trip to top it off. I started panicing and thought I was going insane. Robby and I eventually went outside and he calmed me down. We went for a walk and when we came back inside Nick had been drinking a toooonnn of whiskey. He was really drunk and for the rest of the night he was doing things that you usually do to other drunk friends. Jumping ontop of us, putting his hands in our face, trying to play fight with us, laugh really loud into our faces. That's all cool and blue when i'm drunk with him, but when you're on shrooms and someone's doing that to you -- it drives you insane. I surprisingly had an awesome trip the rest of the night though. The bad trip caused by their arguing only lasted about five or ten minutes.
Sucks you had such an awful trip on your first experience though. I wish everyone was as open to psychedelics as we all are. But everyone should be able to enjoy a good trip everysingle time.
Too bad assholes make things so they don't work that way, huh?

No such thing as a "bad" trip, just an unpleasant or uncomfortable one, in my opinion. Someone can make you uncomfortable, just like in normal reality, only amplified. It all depends on how you run with it and what you do with it... even if the answer is nothing, you can learn from the unpleasantness as well. Just a thought, more on semantics I suppose than on trying to excuse assholery...

lol okay i'll through my two cents in.
the guy who said latent skitzo is wrong.
its sounds like you took too much for your first time. an eigth of good shrooms will completely knock you on your ass, and its an unreasonable starting amount.
also, your set and setting sounded like crap, how were you guys going to the store for food on the comeup of a shroom trip?
